tiṇ T. M. aC. (C. Te. Tu. ദിണ്‍; prh. √ formed from തിടം, ദൃഢം) Firm, strong, stiff, solid. തിണ്കരം RC. a stout hand. തിണ്‍പ ട, തിണ്‍പുകഴ്ചേര്‍ ഇരാവണി, തിണ്ടേര്‍വരു ത്തും നല്ല സൂതന്‍ (= തിണ്‍ തേര്‍), കുരുതിത്തി ണ്കളി കണ്ടു RC. (in the wounded) — തിണ്‍ തുട CG. a stout thigh. തിണ്ണ (in No. also തിണ) T. M. C. (C. tṛδīyam S. (ത്രി ) Third. തൃതീയ (gramm.) The dative case; (astr.) the third day of the lunar fortnight. (തൃ): തൃത്താലിച്ചാര്‍ത്തു a Kshatriya marriage. തൃത്താവു (prob. താഴ്വു, the basin which holds the holy plant). Ocymum sanctum, തുളസി, also called നല്ല തൃ. (&തൃത്വാ അരി a. med.) Kinds: കരിന്തൃ. (=കൃഷ്ണതുളസി), കാട്ടു — GP. Ocymum gratissimum, തുളസി തൃ. Oo. basilicum. തൃത്താക്കുരുവപ്പന്‍ No. (ഗുരു) = മാദേവര്‍. A small obelisk (Phallos?) of ചേടിമണ്‍, placed on the ചൂത്തറ of each house (10 days for Ōṇam & 2 for Maγam) in commemoration, it is said, of the great prosperity under king Mahābali.

RC., തൂവും മലര്‍ത്തഴക്കുഴലി RC., അംഗജത്തഴ പോ ലേപൂങ്കുഴല്‍ അഴിച്ചിട്ടു Bhr. 4. = തഴകി a plaster. തഴനിഴല്‍ awning, bed curtain, മേലാപ്പു. തഴപ്പായ് a fine soft mat. തഴയിടുക (4) to make a plaster, കണ്ണിന്‍െറ അകത്തു മുറിഞ്ഞാല്‍ കര്‍പ്പൂരം പൊടിച്ചിട്ടു ത. MM.; also = തഴെക്ക II. to rub.
