tēmam S. (തിമ്) Wet. (C. തേവ; see തേ ക്കുക, തേവുക). തേമനം S. a sauce = കറി. തേമന്‍ N. pr. of women.

tūḷ palg. vu., rather T. = ധൂളി. denV. തൂളുക So. = ധൂളിക്ക f.i. പൊടി തൂ. = കി ളരുക; വെള്ളം തൂ.o raj. water to break or fall into spray; spray to rise.

tōyam S. (തോയുക) Water. തോയധരം, തോയദം a cloud. തോയധി the sea, യൌവനത്തിങ്കല്‍ ഭവതോ യധിയതില്‍ വീഴും VCh. തോയാകരം id. Bhg. II.

tiraṭṭu T. M. (തിരള്‍) 1. Assemblage; abstract of accounts. മുളകു ചാര്‍ത്തി വന്ന ഒട്ടു ക്കുള്ള തി. TR. the sum total, also തിരട്ടു ക ണക്കു adding up a sum. കുറുന്തിരട്ടു a short abstract. 2. തിരട്ടുകഞ്ഞി, തി'കുളി etc., what refers to the first menstruation; (തിരട്ടുകല്യാ ണം = വയസ്സറിയിക്കും കല്യാണം). തിരട്ടുക 1. So. to ball up, (= തിരയു 1.). 2. തി രട്ടിവെക്ക to perform a ceremony for a girl of 5-6 years, in preparation of marriage (putting her aside, as if for the first menstruation).

tōra l. = തുവര Sk. 2. = കൈമുണ്ടു A cloth over the privities; also തോരന്‍ (which is likewise a cloth with colored streaks V2.); തോര ക്കോണം a distinct kind of such (തോരുക).

tīru, തുര്‍ 5. (either from തികര്‍, see തി കയു; or better from തിരു, I. to turn) 1. Settlement. 2. a written receipt, ജന്മവില വാങ്ങി തീര്‍ തന്നു MR. 3. a lower tenure, നിലം താന്‍ തീരായും (on a mere receipt) പിന്നേ ജന്മിയു മായി നേരിട്ടു പൊളിച്ചെഴുതിച്ചു MR. 4. discharge of a claim upon land, ഞാന്‍ തിരിച്ചു തീര്‍ കൊടുത്ത ഉഭയം, തിരിച്ചു കൊചുത്ത ഇണക്കുതീര്‍ MR. (p. 105.) തീരുമാനം (1) determination. — adv. positively, തീ. അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാ Arb. altogether, utterly. തീ. പ്രാപ്തിയില്ല = ഒട്ടും. തീരുമുറി MR. & തീ൪മ്മുറി V1. (2 — 4) receipt in full; discharge of a claim upon land; deed of assignment of one's right to another ഇത്ഥം തീ൪മുറിയാം പത്രേ VyM. തീവ്വില the final price, a bargain. തീ. യോല a bill of sale. തീ൪വ്വടി, (പടി) T. tāδaǹ S. 1. A father. താതമാതാക്കള്‍ Sk. parents. 2. a Vaishṇava Yōgi; his wife താതച്ചി V1.

taǹd/?/ē M. (തന്‍) = തനതു His own; also തന്‍റു, in തന്‍റടക്കം decency. തന്‍റേടം (ഇടം) 1. self-competency & self-consequence. ത. കാട്ടുക, നടിക്ക, പറക to be of very independent manner. 2. common sense. ത. മറന്നു MC. from passion. ബുദ്ധിക്കു ത. വെക്കാത്തവള്‍ MR. still very young & easily influenced (not of age). തന്‍റേടക്കാരന്‍ person of independent mind; proud.

tīyaǹ, a M. തീവന്‍ (Port. Fr. Tives) An islander, the caste of the palm-cultivators, toddy-drawers, sugar-makers, etc. The ൦രംഴ വര്‍ are in fact the same caste, & both are said to have come with the South-tree (തെങ്ങു) from Ceylon KU. — fem. തീയത്തി & തീയപ്പെണ്ണു TR. തീയര്‍ ആദിയായിട്ടുള്ള കീഴ്ജാതികള്‍ TR.; the caste rose in dignity by serving the English at Tellicherry. പുതിയ തീ. a Tīyar-bridegroom. തീയത്താളന്‍ an islander, (see തീവു). തീയന്‍ വാഴ the Maledive-plantain.
