tūṇi T. M. S. 1. Quiver (Tu. aC. ദോ ണെ, in S. also തൂണം, √ തൂരുക). ശരം ഒടു ങ്ങാത തൂണി KR. ശരതൂണി, അന്പിടുതൂണി RC. 2. a measure of seed sufficient for 100 yards of rice-field, about 1½ Iḍangā/?/i (= 86,400 rice-grains W.). നെല്ല ൮ തൂണിക്ക് അരി ൫ പോരും നെല്ലു CS. paddy, which yields 5/8 rice. — തൂണിക്കൊട്ട a measuring basket.

tōlam S. (തുല) A Tola, the weight of a Rupee. തോലവും much = തുലോം. തോലന്‍ N. pr. a minister of the last Perumāḷ, KU., KM.; comm. N. pr. of men. തോലി, തോലിയം see തോല്വി.

toṭṭi T. M. C. Te. 1. A trough of stone or wood, manger, font. 2. a long narrow garden; the loft in a house V1. 3. = തൊട്ടില്‍, as തൊ ട്ടിക്കട്ടില്‍. a cradle.

tōṇi Tdbh., ദ്രോണി 1. A trough, bathing tub. 2. aboat തോ. മറിഞ്ഞാല്‍ പുറം നല്ലു, ഇ രുതോണിയില്‍ കാല്‍ വെച്ചാല്‍ prov.; a sea-boat കടലില്‍ പെരുമാറുന്ന തോണി ഓടംവക MR. (taxed); a ferry-boat തോണി കടത്തുക KN. (work of Muγyar). യമുനയില്‍ തോണി കളിച്ചു SiPu. went boating. — തോണിക്കാരന്‍, — ക്കൂലി, — പ്പുര etc.

tari M. C. (see തരക്കു, തരു) 1. Grit, granule, sand ഒരു ത. മണല്‍ a grain of sand. ത. യുള്ള മണ്ണല്ല fine clay. വറുത്തു പൊടിച്ചു തരി പോക്കി ചൂര്‍ണ്ണമാക്കി Bhr. coarser bits, unbroken lumps. വെള്ളി ത. ഇട്ട കുട TP. 2. bit തരി പോലും ഇല്ല, ത. മാംസവും ഇല്ല PT. (of a bone) — bubble in water, as from a sinking stone. 3. rough, uncultivated (= തരിശു). നടത്തേണം തരിക്കിടക്കുന്ന രാജ്യം KR. to cultivate waste grounds. 4. astounding = തരിപ്പു. Hence: തരി എടുക്ക (1) to geld MC. (C. തരുടു scrotum). തരിതണം B. ringworm = തഴുതണം. തരിത്തട്ടു a roughly ornamented plate, ത'ട്ടില്‍ താളിയുമായി TP. തരിപ്പണം rice fried & pounded = മലര്‍പ്പൊടി f. i. ത. തൃപ്തിയെ വരുത്തും GP.
