dhanam S. (ധാ) 1. The prize of a fight, booty. 2. wealth, money, riches. സ്ത്രീധ. dowry. ധനഞ്ജയന്‍ (1) victorious; a name of Arǰuna Bhr. ധനദന്‍ (2) liberal, Kubēra. ധനധാന്യം wealth of all kinds Anj. ധ'ന്യാ ദികള്‍ vu.; ധാദിപദാ൪ത്ഥവും Bhg. ധനപിശാചി avarice. ധനലാഭം gain, ധ.കൊതിക്ക Anj. ധനവാന്‍ rich, also ധനാഢ്യന്‍; opp. ധന ഹീനന്‍ VyM. ധനാഗമം acquisition of riches നിന്നുടെ ധ. എങ്ങനേ പറക നീ Mud.; (opp. ധനക്ഷയം). ധനാദ്ധ്യക്ഷന്‍ V1. a treasurer. ധനാശ hope of money, thirst of wealth. ധനാശി (Tdbh., ധനാശ്രീ or ധന്യാശീ) a tune sung at the close of a drama, also മാരധ നാശി B., (സനാശി So.), ധ.പാടിപ്പോയി the curtain has dropped; fig. it is all over, the dream has passed. ധനാശിക്കാരന്‍ the collector of contributions at a play. ധനി wealthy, ധനികളില്‍ ആരേ ദരിദ്രനാ ക്കേണ്ടു KR. — Superl. ധനിഷ്ഠന്‍ VyM. ധനികന്‍ id. എത്രയും ധ. ഞാന്‍ Nal.; ദരിദ്രനാ കിലും ധ. ആകിലും KR.; അതിധ.
