ner̀uγa (T. നെറി temples; what is straight). The crown of the head (in Tu. നെ ത്തി). നെറുകയില്‍ പീലികെട്ടി Bhr., also നെ റുകന്തല. നെറുവിളക്കു (& കാക്കവി.) a lamp nailed on the head of exposed infants or hanged criminals. നെ. തറെക്ക; നീകാലത്തു നെ. കണ്ടുപോകും (curse).

nartaγyaǹ S. Dancer (= നടന്‍). ന' ന്മാരുടെ നൃത്തവും കണ്ടു CG.; also = നൃത്തനം ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നവന്‍ VyM. — fem. നര്‍ത്തകിമാരും വേണം VCh. actresses. നര്‍ത്തനം = നൃത്തം, f. i. ന. ചെയ്യുന്നു Bhg.

naičyam S. Lowness — നീചത്വം.

nunuam S. & നുത്തം (part, of നുദ് push). Driven വായുനുന്നങ്ങളാം മേഘങ്ങള്‍ Bhr. നുന്‍ = മുന്‍ aM. വിണ്ണവ൪കോന്‍ തന്തിരുനു ന്പില്‍. — No. ഇതിനു നുന്പേ TR.; നുന്പു മറി ഞ്ഞു TP. a fencing posture. മേലില്‍ വരും നു ന്പും ഞാറാഴ്ച TP. next Sunday. നുനി 1. = (T. tip) കൈമുണ്ടു, കൌപീനം. 2. (= നുണ്‍) very thin & meagre V1.

nuḷa (loc.) Wet, damp (= ഞളു?). നുളരുക to be moist, damp പൂത്തു നന്നായ ള ര്‍ന്നിട്ടു നില്പൊരു മരങ്ങള്‍ KR.

nārasimham S. Referring to നരസിംഹം, fem. നാരസിംഹി DM. a heroine.

noḍi, & ഞൊടി T. M. (T. C. Te. Tu. നുഡി sound, word). 1. A snap with the thumb & middle finger, നൊ. മിടിക്ക. 2. a moment,= ¼ Mātra (കരവിരല്‍ നൊടി Bhg. 3 = 1 Mātra). ഒരു നൊടിയാല്‍ ലങ്കയും പൊടിച്ചെ യ്തു RC.; അര നൊടികൊണ്ട് -ഒടുക്കി KR.; നൊ ടിയളവു, അറിഞ്ഞൊരു നൊടിയിടേ RC.; നൊ ടിയിടയില്‍ അടല്‍ പൊരുതു Bhr.; നൊടിയില്‍ ചത്തു suddenly. 3. met. അവനു തുന്നുവാന്‍ ഒന്തൊരു നൊടി ആകുന്നു vu. what a knack for sewing, etc. നൊടിക്ക 1. To fillip, snap with fingers V2. കൈ നൊ. to strike with a sharp sound. നൊ ടിച്ചു വിളിക്ക to call one near, superciliously (as a dog). നൊടിച്ച വിരല്‍ നോകും No. 2.
