pāδi T. M. (= പകുതി). A share, half പൊന്‍പാ. പകുത്തു തരുവാന്‍ TP.; അതില്‍ പാ. പണം TR. half that sum. കൊണ്ടതില്‍ പാ'വി ല prov. നാടാലും പാ. കൊടുത്തു TP.; ആദിപാ തി ഒടു No. or പാററ Palg. = the best seedlings are produced from the earliest fruits of the jack-tree, from the fruit of a half grown areca-palm & from that of an old cocoanut-tree or palmyra. — പപ്പാതിയാക്ക to divide in equal halves. പാതിക W. a portion of landed property (Tdbh. of പാദിക). പാതിക്കാരന്‍ who goes halves with another, പാതിക്കൂററുകാരന്‍. പാതിച്ചു by halves. പാതിച്ചവണ്ണം അടക്കേണം CG. at least somewhat. പാതിപ്പാടു a half. — എന്‍സന്താപോല്ക്കും പാ' പ്പെട്ടു Nal. is half gone. പാതിപ്പുടവ 1. a woman's cloth in halves. 2. a double cloth. പാതിയാക to be nearly destroyed, ചങ്ങല പൂ ണ്ടു പാദങ്ങള്‍ ചെങ്ങി അരഞ്ഞു പാതിയായി CG. പാതിരാ midnight. പാതിവാരം B. a tenure by which half the produce is given to the proprietor.

piδāvụ S. (Nom. of പിതൃ fr. പാ, Ju-piter). pāppini (പാപ്പാന്‍) A caste of lower Brahmans, who purify Nāyars whilst their women sing at Nāyar marriages etc. (71 in Taḷipar̀ambu). പാപ്പുക്കോയില്‍ N. pr. = പറപ്പൂര്‍സ്വരൂപം (old).

pariṇṇal (fr. പരിക്കു). 1. Scratched surface, hurt skin. 2. V1. the roe of fish, rather പരിഞ്ഞില്‍. 3. griet, distraction. പരിങ്ങു V1. the hilt of a sword (or — ഞ്ഞു) പരിങ്ങുക 1. to be perplexed. 2. to lie in wait, steal V1; to pluck grass B. CV. പരിങ്ങിക്ക to confound.

pandụ T. M. (Tdbh. of ബന്ധ), also പൊ ന്തു 1. A clew of thread. നൂല്‍പ്പ. etc. മരുന്നി ന്‍റെ മീതേ പ. the charge upon the powder in loading. 2. a ball of wood or pith, tennis ball. പന്തടിക്കക്കളി juggling with balls; also പന്തടി Sk. പന്തടിക്ക to play with balls, തല പലതറുത്തു ഞാന്‍ പ' ച്ചീടേനണം ChVr. So മൂന്നു തലയും മുറിച്ചുപന്താടിനാന്‍ AR. played bowls with his enemies' heads. മുല തുള്ളവേ പന്താടുന്ന ഭ്രമി KR. — VN. പന്താട്ടം = പന്തുകളി. പന്തുകളി play at ball. പന്തുവരാടി a certain tune (T. puṇyam S. (പുഷ്?) 1. Good, favorable. 2. pure (as if from പൂ √) as in കൈപ്പുണ്യം Sil. cleanliness. 3. a good action എണ്ണമററീ ടുന്ന പു'ങ്ങള്‍ വിണ്ണിടം എങ്ങും നടത്തുക CG. ദണ്ഡ്യന്മാരല്ലാത പു'മാണ്ടുള്ളോര്‍ CG. യജിക്കുന്ന പു. ഭജിക്കുന്ന പു. ജപിക്കുന്ന പു. സമസ്തം ഫലം SiPu. 4. merit അന്നു വരേ ചെയ്ത പു'ങ്ങള്‍ നശിച്ചു പോം VyM. ചെയ്തൊരു പു'ത്തിന്നന്ത മില്ല എന്നതോ നിര്‍ണ്ണയമേ CG. she must have acquired much merit to attain such a lot. പു. അര്‍ജ്ജിക്ക; പു. നിങ്കല്‍ ആക്കി AR3. transfer my merits. പുണ്യകര്‍മ്മം S. 1. a good action, opp. പാപകര്‍മ്മം GuP. 2. a holy ceremony, as of Brahmans. പുണ്യകാലം S. holy season, a feast.
