(I. പരി): പരിഷത്തു S. (സദ്) sitting about, a solemn assembly.

paδivraγa S. (പതി I.) Faithful to her husband, KR.— പുത്രിക്കു പ'താധര്‍മ്മങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാം ഉപദേശിച്ചു AR. the duties of a good wife. പതിവ്രതം ദുഷ്പ്രാപമാകും Sah. = പാതിവ്രത്യം.

pū & പൂവു 5. (fr. പു. root of പുതു, പുല്‍? but C. pubbu, C. Te. puvva to show, Tdbh. of പുഷ്പം). 1. To blossom വസന്തം വന്നിങ്ങു മരങ്ങള്‍ പൂത്തു KR. പൂത്തമരം a tree in blossom. പൂത്തത് ഒക്ക മാങ്ങയല്ല prov. പൂ വാത്ത, പൂക്കാത്ത bearing no blossom, prov. 2. to bud, expand പൂത്ത ചോകിന്‍ കൂട്ടം RC. increasing host, 3. to menstruate പൂത്തിരിക്കുന്നവള്‍; തൃപ്പൂത്തിരിക്ക (goddesses, queens, etc.). 4. to become mouldy. നാവു പൂത്തു തടിച്ചു Nid. furred. പൂത്തു പോയി spoiled as fruits. പൂത്തമരം decayed wood (= പുഴുത്ത & പൂതലടിച്ചമരം). VN. I. പൂക്കല്‍ flowering; നാപ്പൂക്കല്‍ sore mouth. II. പൂപ്പു 1. growing; ഇളന്പൂപ്പു (loc.) = അന്നു ണ്ണിഫലം annual vegetables. 2. a crop കൊല്ലത്തില്‍ മൂന്നു പൂപ്പു prov. sowing & reaping thrice (Kanni, Maγara, Mēḍa) also പൂവല്‍ & പൂ. 3. mould, verdigris, moss പൂ. പിടിക്ക Vl. 4. menses. CV. പൂപ്പിക്ക to cause to blossom മററുള്ളൃ തുക്കളും തന്മരം തന്മരം പൂപ്പിച്ചു CG.

paṭṭi 1. (T. loose condition, prostitute, fr. പടു). Miserable, പട്ടിക്കുതിരകള്‍കൊണ്ടു വന്നു കെട്ടി Nal. vicious. പട്ടിമാടു useless cattle (abuse). 2. (T. പാട്ടി) a bitch ഊര്‍പട്ടി; dog in general ആണ്പടി Vl. കുരെക്കും പ. കടിയാ prov. (hence in So. the fem. പട്ടിച്ചി). 3. T. M. C. a fold for cattle, sheep. പട്ടികെട്ടുക (on the open field). ആട്ടിന്‍പട്ടി a sheep-pen on high pillars (Palg.); place where slaves stand to receive their hire. 4. Palg. N. pr. m., — വേലന്‍. പട്ടിക്കാടു N. pr. a place between Trichoor & Palg. പട്ടിക്കാട്ടിലേ നായി ( = കാട്ടുപട്ടി = പു ലി) കടിച്ചിട്ടു വീട്ടിലേ നായേ തല്ലുന്നത് prov. പട്ടിക്കൂട്ടം V1. a litter of pups. പട്ടിച്ചാല്‍ working a ricefield after manuring with leaves & preparing the squares. പട്ടിച്ചെവി Acrostichonarifolium, Rh. പട്ടിപ്പടി the gate of a fold. പട്ടിപുലി a small leopard.

pūraṇam S. (പൂരം). 1. Filling വില്ലി നേ പൂ. ചെയ്യും KR. will bend the bow. സ ന്താനപൂ. വരുത്തുക Sk. to obtain the desired posterity. 2. hairs of silk for the use of women. പൂരാടം Tdbh. of പൂ൪വ്വാഷാഢം The 20th asterism, bow of Sagittarius പൂ. പിറന്ന പു രുഷന്‍ prov. (= very strong, see മകം).
