parvam S. (പരുസ്സ്). 1. Knot, joint as of bamboos, limbs, etc. 2. division of time, period (esp. വാവു) season, festival. 3. comm. പരുവം the different stages of development esp. in the growth of certain plants (see തെ ങ്ങു, നെല്ലു), or the degree of ripeness in fruits (see തേങ്ങ, ചക്ക, അടക്ക). 4. a chapter, of which Bhr. has 18, hence പ. വായിക്ക to read the Bhr.; also a song in general ദുഷിപ. Nasr.; പ'ങ്ങളും കാണ്ഡങ്ങളും Bhr. & Ram. പരുവമാക T. So.
