pūnduγa So. (fr. പൂഴു). To sink in the ground, വിശിഖം പൂന്തി ChS. പൂത്തു, കുഴിപ്പൂത്തു So. a grave. v. a. പൂത്തുക (പൂഴ്ത്തുക) 1. to press into ചവിട്ടിച്ചളി യില്‍ പൂത്തും MR. puḷayuγa M. C. (poḷe, Te. polupu). To twirl about, wriggle തിരമാല നടുവേ പു' ന്ന ഭുജഗങ്ങള്‍ RS. പുളഞ്ഞുകളക a snake to twine itself round the body of men, beasts. VN. I. പുളച്ചല്‍ (പാന്പിന്‍റെ). CV. പുളയിക്ക to brandish, swing, switch. പുളവന്‍ a very venomous snake, in fresh water. (നീരാഴാന്ത 571.). എട്ടടിപ്പു V2. another kind; so പയ്യാനിപ്പുളവന്‍. V. iterat. പുളെക്ക 1. id. to roll oneself. കാളിന്ദി തന്നില്‍ പുളെച്ചീടുന്ന കാളിയന്‍ CC. to loiter about, enjoy one's element. 2. to revel, കാമാര്‍ത്തി പൂണ്ടു പുളെച്ചു കളിക്ക Bhr. so in the heat of battle കളിച്ചു പുളെച്ചു Bhg. രുധിരം കുടിച്ചു പുളെച്ചു Bhr. (demons). ഒ ളിച്ചു ശിശുത്വവും പുളെച്ചു മനോമദേ SiPu. തുള്ളിപ്പുളെക്ക VCh. to swagger, strut. പുളെ ച്ചുള്ള വീരര്‍ വരാഭ്യാസങ്ങളും KR. haughty warriors. (പാപം 2, 646). കളിച്ചും പുളെച്ചും വളര്‍ന്നവന്‍, — ള്‍ No. = ആണിനും തൂണിന്‍ും അടങ്ങാത്തവള്‍ prov. തിന്നു പുളെച്ചവന്‍ (a stout, self-willed, loose man). 3. v. n. to yield richly നെല്ലു, പയറു, കുന്പളങ്ങ etc. പു ളെച്ചുപോയി No.; Palg. also പോളിച്ചു No.

pīččaγam & പീച്ചി (പീച്ചു = പീ) see ചീര 3). A pot-herb, Luffa acutangula, Rh. (also=പടോലം). — Kinds: കാട്ടുപീച്ചിങ്ങ Luffa pentandra (= പീരപ്പെട്ടി), പേപ്പീ. (bitter sort). പീച്ചാങ്കത്തി pīččāṇgatti T.M. (Tu. bisatti, fr. പീച്ച?) & പീശ്ശാത്തി A common knife. പീച്ചാങ്കഴല്‍ T. M. a syringe (see foil.). പീച്ചാനി N. pr. male.

pōttụ T. M. (Te. pōtu any male animal, C. Te. pōtri a male buffalo). 1. Bhr.; പഴുത്ത പഴം ripe fruit, കുല പഴുക്കുന്പോള്‍ സങ്ക്രാന്തി, പഴു ക്കാന്‍ മൂത്താല്‍ പറിക്ക prov.; പ. വെക്ക to put fruits in straw (= പഴുപ്പിക്ക). 2. to become well tempered, red-hot. പ. ച്ചുടുക to roast well, എരിയുന്ന തീയില്‍ പഴുത്ത നാരാചം KR. 3. to suppurate പുണ്‍ പഴുക്കില്‍ MM. 4. to decay. പഴുത്തില a dried leaf, ദേഹം പഴു ത്തു പോയീടും KR. = പഴകി. പഴുത്തില hon. for betel, when Nāyars speak to Brahmans, Tīyars to Nāyars, etc. (see 4).
