punam (T. high ground). 1. pappaḍam (C.Tu. happaḷam. S. പര്‍പ്പ ടം). A thin, crisp cake of ഉഴുന്നു; one kind is ക്ഷാരപപ്പടം GP.; ഉരുക്കുനെയ്യില്‍ ചുട്ട പ. TP. പപ്പടക്കല്ലു a millstone തിരിക്കല്ലു, taxed MR. പപ്പടക്കാരം = potass. പപ്പടച്ചെട്ടി a caste of cakemakers, Jainas (114 at Taḷiparambu).
