Rāja to Nāyars for 2500 new fanams (the family receiving then a Diploma of nobility on a copper plate in power of which the offspring of its females enjoy certain privileges f.i. at marriages & exemption from customary labour (socage-duty). 3. the young of animals, small fruit; B. the pestle; അമ്മി പ്പിള്ള etc. 4. the Becond term in the rule of three, being of the same kind as x. (see ത ള്ള) CS. പിള്ളക്കര B. (3) a smaller stripe in cloth. പിള്ളക്കിണറു (3) a smaller well sunk within a larger one. പിള്ളക്കോല്‍ (3) sticks hanging from the പാ ലം of weavers. പിള്ളതിന്നി (1) attribute of a f. poṭṭa (T. blindness, Tu. dumb). 1. What is broken, maimed. 2. a stinging fly. 3. a plant the berries of which are used in popguns. പൊട്ടക്കണ്ണന്‍ So. blind, — ണ്ണി fem. പൊട്ടക്കലം a broken water-pot. പൊട്ടക്കാവളം the stinking Sterculia foetida (പൊട്ടക്കാളം Palg. a firewood-tree). പൊട്ടക്കിണറു a blind well, — ററില്‍ തളളിവി ട്ടാര്‍ Bhr.; also പൊട്ടക്കൂപം. പൊട്ടക്കുളം a waterless tank അട്ടെക്കു പൊ. prov. (so പൊട്ടക്കുഴി). പൊട്ടച്ചെവിയന്‍ deaf. പൊട്ടപ്പറന്പു No. = വെറും. പൊട്ടപ്പുല്ലു a kind of grass. പൊട്ട പറയാതേ RS. no nonsense! പൊട്ടയിടുക to smack. (No. നൊട്ട 2.)

piγayuγa (T. പികു, C. Tu. Te. bigu, tension, C. Te. pigulu, to burst from tension). To wrestle തമ്മലില്‍ പൊഞ്ഞോണ്ടു TP. — to turn, twirl തമ്മില്‍ തര്‍ക്കിച്ചു പികഞ്ഞു. VN. പികെച്ചല്‍ twirling. പിക്കുക, ച്ചു V1. (C. to pluck. Tu. pinǰu) to break in pieces.

puḷḷuvaǹ (പുള്‍). N. pr. A caste employed in medicine, മന്ത്രവാദം, singing at snake-groves the പുള്ളുവപ്പാട്ടു accompanied by the tap of the പുള്ളുവക്കുടം; the females (പു ള്ളുവത്തി) are midwives in the No. (61 in Taliparambu Talook).
