bhaṭṭaǹ S. (= ഭര്‍ത്താ). Lord, title of learned Brahmans, (Tdbh. പട്ടര്‍). ഭട്ടതിരി, vu. പട്ടേരി the highest class of Kēraḷa Brahmans; also called ഭട്ടാചാര്യര്‍ teachers of philosophy, who restored Brahmanism after the Bauddha rule KU. — ഭട്ടാ ചാര്യന്‍gen. = Kumārilabhaṭṭa.

bhāṭṭam S. (ഭട്ട). A division of the old Kēraḷa Brahmans (2 others are പ്രഭാകരം & വ്യാകരണം) derived from one ഭാട്ടപ്രഭാകര വ്യാകരണന്‍, whose shoe (മെതിയടി) is said to be preserved in തൃക്കണ്ണാപുരം, തൃക്കല്‍പുറം KU. (others = പാട്ടം usufruction). ഭാട്ടന്‍ S. a follower of ഭട്ടന്‍. ഭാഡ (loc.) = ബാഡ.

bhaġnam S. (part. pass, of ഭഞ്ജ്). Broken ഭഗ്നശത്രുവാം നീ, പടജ്ജനം ഭ'മാക്കി Nal. defeated. ഭാഗം S. 1. breaking. സത്യവാക്കിന്ന് ഒരിക്കല്‍ ഭ. ഇല്ല Si Pu. no breach of promise; rout of an army. 2. loss, interruption, prevention, ആശാഭ. disappointment, ഭര്‍ത്തൃശു ശ്രൂഷാഭ. വന്നു Bhr. ഭംഗപ്പെടുക to be disconcerted, molested. ഭംഗപ്പാടു V1. torment. ഭംഗംവരിക to be defeated, interrupted നി ങ്ങള്‍ തുടങ്ങിന മംഗലകര്‍മ്മത്തിന്‍ ഭംഗ മോ വന്നിതു CG. സ്നേഹത്തിന്നു ഭ. breach or loss of friendship. അവകാശത്തിന്നു ഭ.
