bhīsaṇam S. (caus. of ഭീ). Frightening മഹാവനം ഭീ. ഭയങ്കരം Nal. ദണ്ഡിയെ ക്കാള്‍ അതിഭീ'മായി CG. — അധികഭീഷണനായ കാശ്മീരനാഥന്‍ Mud. awful. ഭീ'മായുള്ള വാക്കു കള്‍ Mud. threats. ഭീഷണി 1. a form of Kāḷi. 2. frightening ഭീ. കാട്ടുക, ഭീ. പ്രകാരത്തെ ചെയ്ക Nal. to terrify; esp. of threats ഭീരുവാം നിന്നുടെ ഭീ. കേട്ടപ്പോള്‍ SG നിന്നുടെ ഭീ. നമ്മോടു കൂടുമോ KR. thy menaces will not affect me. ഭീഷ്മം = ഭീമം S. — ഭീഷ്മര്‍ N. pr. son of Santanu.

bhūšaṇam S. Decorating; ornament മരുന്നുപെട്ടി വന്നതുകൊണ്ടു വളരേ ഭൂ. ഉണ്ടാ യി TR. helped to perfect the feast. നമ്മുടെ മാനമര്യാദ പോലേ നടത്തി തരുന്നതല്ലോ കു ന്പഞ്ഞിക്കു ഭൂ. bharlsanam S. (bharts). Blaming; abuse, menace ഭ. ഒട്ടും ഇല്ല Bhr. ഭ. ചെയ്യും വരനെ Sah. denV. ഭര്‍ത്സിക്ക to rail, abuse (part. pass. ഭ ര്‍ത്സിതം S.); also വളരേ പരപ്പില്‍ പറ ഞ്ഞാന്‍ വാനരന്മാരെ ഭര്‍ത്സിപ്പിച്ചിങ്ങനേ KR. (without caus. meaning).

B. kingly government. ഭൂവാസികള്‍ V1. inhabitants of the earth, men; = അന്പലവാസി (loc).

bhāǰanam S. (ഭജ്). l. A vessel, as dish, cup പരിപൂര്‍ണ്ണമായിരിക്കുന്നു ഭാ. നൂറുണ്ടു Mud. 2. partaking of, worthy of (=പാത്രം). ഭാഗ്യത്തിന്‍ ഭാ. എങ്ങനേ ഞാനാവു, തല്‍കാരു ണ്യപൂരത്തിന്‍ ഭാ'മായ അമ്മ CG. ദേഹം ജരാ വ്യാധിഭാ. Bhg. ഭാജകം S. the divisor = ഹാരകം f. i. രണ്ടു രാ ശികളില്‍ വെച്ചു മേലേതു ഭാജ്യം, കീഴേതു ഭാ ജകം Gan. (see foil.). ഭാജ്യം S. the dividend (see prec.) ദൃഢഭാ. ൧൭ ദൃഢഭാജകം പതിനഞ്ചു Gan.

bhaġaṇam S. (ഭം a star, fr. ഭാ). The host of stars, zodiac; also = 1/12 രാശി (astr.). ചതുര്‍യ്യുഗത്തിങ്കലേ ഭഗണഭൂദിനങ്ങള്‍, തികഞ്ഞ ഭ'ങ്ങള്‍ ഉളവാകും Gan. ഭഗണന്‍ an astrologer, ജാതകഫലം ചൊല്ലി ഓരോരോ ഭ'ന്മാര്‍ KR. (prh. ഭാഗണന്‍?). ഭഗവതി, ഭഗവാന്‍, see ഭഗം. ഭഗിനി S. (the happy) a sister. ഭഗീരഥന്‍ N. pr. a king that brought Gauga from heaven down to the earth. Brhmd. — ഭഗീരഥപ്രയത്നംപോലേ prov. of Herculean tasks.

bhavam S. (ഭൂ). 1. Birth. രണ്ടാം ഭവേ Si Pu. at my next birth. 2. existence, being in the world; the world ഭ. മാറുക, ഭവത്തെ പോക്ക KeiN. final absorption (= ജനിമോചനം). ഭവസാഗരം S. the misery of successive births. ഭ'രാല്‍ രക്ഷിച്ചു കൊള്ളേണമേ AR. ഭ. കട ക്ക to pass the stormy sea of life. ഭവസാ ഗരബന്ധു ChVr. God as helping through. — also ഭവമൃതിസമുദ്രം Bhg. ഭവതോയധി യില്‍ വീഴും VCh. to lead a life of stormy passions (= സംസാരസമുദ്രം). ഭവനം S. 1. existence. 2. a mansion, house f. i. of a Nāyar ഭ. ഉണ്ടാക്കിച്ചു തരുവന്‍ Bhr. ന മ്മുടെ ഭ. പണി ചെയ്യുന്നതിന്നു TR. (a Rāja). ഭവന്‍ S. a form of Rudra. ഭവാനി fem. 1. a form of Durga, ഭ. ഗേഹം Bhg. her temple. 2. N. pr. the Bhawāny, a tributary of the Kāvēry, rising on the Koṇḍa range (Koondahs) in Vaḷḷuva Nāḍu.
