maδam S. (part. pass. of മന്‍). 1. God's will. മറുമതക്കാരന്‍ of an other religion. ശൈവമ., വൈഷ്ണവമ. etc. മതത്യാഗം S. apostacy, — മതത്യാഗി pervert. മതപ്പിരട്ടന്‍ a heretic, heresiarch (Christ.). മതഭേദം S. 1. difference of opinion or religion. 2. partiality. 3. a different sect. മതയുദ്ധം religious war. മതശങ്ക (mod.) religious scruples, qualms. മതസ്ഥന്‍ S. holding a view or system.
