mēttaǹ B. A class of Muhammedans. മേത്തല്‍ (loc.) = മീത്തല്‍, also കുടയുടെ മേത്തു ചോരയുള്ളതു നോക്കി jud. Mpl. — മേത്തോട്ടു upwards. (മേല്‍): മേത്തട്ടു ceiling, upper story. മേത്തരം the best sort, superior നീതിക്കെല്ലാം മേററരമാനനിശാചരന്‍ RC. മേത്തലവായു Palg. sore eyes with head-ache (corr. fr. നേത്രവായു). മേത്താവി Tdbh. = മേധാവി. മേത്തോന്നി Gloriosa or Methonica superba, with poisonous root used by women (മേ' യും കിണറും ഉണ്ടു) for suicide. മേത്രാന്‍, see മെത്രാന്‍.

maḍayaǹ 1. T. So. A stupid person (മ ടം 3). 2. who has a sort of private temple മടപ്പുര etc. No. മടയുക, മടച്ചല്‍ (V1. a palm-leaf letter). To fold, braid — see മി —, മു —.

maččunaǹ T. M. (T. maittunan, C. meiduna, Te. mar̀andi). The son of an uncle (mother's brother) or of father's sister മച്ചി നന്‍ Pay., മച്ചൂനന്‍ vu. മച്ചുനന്‍പണം bridegroom's fee to the cousin of the bride. മച്ചൂനബന്ധം മരിച്ചാലും മറക്കുകയില്ല prov. first cousinship. മച്ചൂനിച്ചി daughter of mother's brother or father's sister, regarded as the proper bride for her cousin.

m/?/šṭam S. 1. (part. pass. of മൃജ്). Wiped, clean. 2. a rich meal, dainties മൃ. അഷ്ടി ക ഴിക്ക ChVr. മൃ'മായുണ്ണേണ്ണം AR. സിംഹവും മൃ' ത്തെ ഭുജിക്കായി PT. മാംസാദിയാല്‍ മൃ'മായൂട്ടു, മൃ' മാം അന്നം Bhr. മൃ'മായി ഭക്ഷണം കഴിഞ്ഞു vu. മൃഷ്ടാന്നം S. a sumptuous entertainment മൃഷ്ടാ ന്ന പൂര്‍ണ്ണോദരന്മാര്‍ SiPu. മ. കഴിക്ക vu. = നി റയ. maiyāram (മൈ 2.) = മെയ്യാരം. മൈയ്യന്‍ (മൈ 1.) Palg. Er̀. (opp. മെയ്യന്‍) a rogue. മൈയ്യക്കള്ളന്‍ Er̀. a night-snap, night-thief = തഞ്ചം നോക്കി; Palg. an eye-servant.
