mūrkhaǹ S. (മൂര്‍ഛ). 1. Blockhead, rude, vicious PT. = മൂഢന്‍. 2. M. = മുറുക്കന്‍ a poisonous snake മൂ'നെ തിന്നുന്ന നാടു prov. (often മു'ന്‍ പാന്പു as ഉള്‍പ്പെട്ട മുള്ളും മു'ന്‍ പാന്പും എ പ്പേര്‍പ്പെട്ടവയും doc). Kinds: എട്ടടിമൂ., എഴു ത്താണി —, കാട്ടു — Boa, കൈതമൂ. hedge-snake പുല്ലാഞ്ഞിമൂ. etc. മൂര്‍ഖത, — ത്വം S. stupidity, obstinacy. മൂര്‍ഖപുരം (doc.) a snake's abode (2). മൂര്‍ഖമതി vicious മൂ. യായ കൈകേയി AR.

maǰǰanam S. (L mergo). Diving, bathing, sinking ലജ്ജയാം കടലില്‍ മ. ചെയ്തു PT.; fig. അവനില്‍ മ. ചെയ്തൊന്നെന്നുള്ളം CG. = is merged in him. മജ്ജനശാല = കുള — & കുളിപ്പുര a bath.

mōγuγa (or മോഴ്ക?, മുകക്ക T. to draw water, C. moge). To drink, sip അവന്‍ മോണു not for thirst, as med. or for tasting; see മൊ ത്തുക, മോന്തുക. മോയിക്ക 1. V. freq. മോയിച്ചു കുടിച്ചു sipped it out. 2. CV. to give to sip, as to a child, old man, patient. VN. മോവല്‍ a gulp, രണ്ടു മോവലിന്നുണ്ടു enough for 2 draughts. മോക്കണി (T. മൊ —; മുക —?) V1. A sack out of which horses eat.

marikka S. (മൃ). To die, more hon. than ചാക f. i. മരിയാതേ തോററാര്‍, മരിച്ചു മരിയാ തേ Bhr. barely escaping (= ജീവന്മൃതം). മരി യായ്ക Mud. മരിച്ചു കളക to commit suicide. മരിച്ചേടത്തില്‍ എനിക്കു സുഖം ഇല്ല TP. in hades. VN. മരിപ്പു death അവിടേ മ. എനക്കു TP. മ. നേരത്തു CatR. പിറപ്പും മരിപ്പും prov. CV. മരിപ്പിക്ക 1. to cause death, kill താതനെ മ'പ്പതിന്ന` ആള്‍ RS. 2. to keep until death, support through life (loc.). മരിക്കം, see മരുക്കം.

S. Mālva. മാളുക = മാഴ്കുക f. i. മീടു പൂപോലേ മാളി മയ ങ്ങി TP. faled, withered. മാഴം = മാഷം? in മാഴനീഴ് മിഴിയിനാള്‍ RC.; in T. മാഴ = beauty, M. (loc.) A mixture of water, flour & sugar മാഴനേര്‍ മിഴിയാള്‍ Bhg 8.

mukkaḷam (മുഷ്കു, C. മുക്കു). Fullness of blood. ചോരമു. turgid, well fed, wanton state.

malpiḍi (മല്ലു). 1. A strong grasp. 2. wrestling; showing one's strength മ'പ്പിടി ച്ചുടന്‍ എടുത്തു ഞെരിച്ചു RS.; also മ'ത്തം So. മല്പിടിക്ക 1. to wrestle, box. 2. to contend, vie with ബാലിക്കുമ'ച്ചീടുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങള്‍ AR. മല്പിടിക്കാരന്‍ a wrestler; athletic.

mukkaḍu (മു 2) = ത്രികടു; ചുക്കു, മുളകു, തിപ്പലി the 3 pungents. മുക്കണ്ണന്‍ three-eyed; a cocoa-nut; Siva മു'ര്‍ CG. മു'ര്‍ധനുസ്സു KR.; മുക്കണ്ണന്തിരി see തിരി. മുക്കണ്ണി a triangle formed by 3 dots. മുക്കണ്ണിക്ക to be triangular, to place three sticks so that they support each other. മുക്കവന്‍, see മുക്കുക. മുക്കവല meeting of 3 branches or ways.

muṇḍ/?/am S. (fr. മുണ്ടം). 1. A pollard. 2. a bald pate, shaved ശിരസ്സു മു'മാക്കി PT. അവനെ മു'൦ ചെയ്തു വിട്ടു CC. സ്ത്രീയുടെ തല മു. ആക്കി, ചെയ്യിച്ചു VyM. (as widow). 3. the skull മുണ്ഡമാലയില്‍നിന്നു ഒരു മു. മുഴങ്ങി Sk. മുണ്ഡ S. a widow, with shaved head (മുണ്ഡച്ചി), മു. യായിരുന്നവള്‍ തന്നുടെ ഗര്‍ഭം Si Pu. മുണ്ഡനം S. shaving the head ശിരോമു. ചെ യ്തു PT. മുണ്ഡമാല S. a string of skulls നീണ്ടുവളര്‍ന്നുളള മു. CG. മുണ്ഡി S. a barber; (loc.) a bald head. മുണ്ഡിതം S. shorn, lopped മുണ്ഡിതകേശനായി CG.
