lammi (loc.) Lewd, dissolute. ലമ്മാണികള്‍ C. Tu. M. (H. Te. T. ലന്പാടി) a caste of wandering dealers in corn, Banjārā H. = എരുതുകാര്‍, ചെണ്ടുകാര്‍ Cann. ലന്പാടികള്‍ (see ab.) taking goods fr. Wayanāḍ/?/ to the coast on pack-oxen. — ലന്പാ ടിക്കന്നു Palg. bullocks brought for sale from Koṇṇ/?/.

lavaṇam S. (= ര —). 1. Salt ലവ ണജലം കൊണ്ടവനെ അഭിഷേകം കഴിച്ചു RS. ലവണമേഹം ഉപ്പുകണക്കേ വീഴും a. med. (a disease). ലവണാംബുധി the sea. 2. handsome.

labdham S. (part. pass. of ലഭ്). Got. ലബ്ധി acquisition സുഗ്രീവനു രാജ്യല. ഓരാതേ ലഭിക്കയും KR. (= ലാഭം), so മോക്ഷലബ്ധി etc.

lalāmam S. Mark (on the forehead of cattle etc.); an ornament.

lāyam H. Te. C. Tu. T — ആലയം. A stable ലാ. കാര്യക്കാരന്‍ TrP. (over the horses). — കുതിരലായം a horse-stable.

E. roll, Pulley. ല occurs chiefly in S. & foreign words; Māpiḷḷas often pronounce ല where ര is original (ലണ്ടു, ലാസ്ത്രി = രാത്രി).
