vallari S. (= വള്ളി). 1. A creeper വ. ജാലങ്ങള്‍ മരങ്ങളെ പിടിച്ചു പൂണുന്നു CG. In Cpds. (= കൊടി) പുരുവവ. യിണ വളഞ്ഞിള കി RC. 2. a flower-bunch, compound pedicle (= പൂന്തൊത്തു, മഞ്ജരി). വ. പ്പറ or വല്ലിപറ a cymbal. S. ഝര്‍ഝര. വല്ലവന്‍ 1. S., f. വല്ലവി. A herdsman = വല്ല ഭന്‍ 3. CG. 2. M. see വല്ല.

vallụ 5. (= വല്‍). To be able, strong; def.V. of which past t. വേര്‍വ്വിടുപ്പാന്‍ വല്ലീല്ലാ രും, നാഥനു കാനനപാലനം വല്ലീല്ല CG. could not preserve. — fut. ചൊല്ലീടുക വല്ലുമാകില്‍ C. S. (& വല്ലുകില്‍) if thou canst. വില്ലെ വെ ല്ലുവാന്‍ വല്ലും VCh. may well rival Kāma's bow. (1st pers. എന്തു ഞാന്‍ ചൊല്ലവല്ലേന്‍ CG. what can I say; also neg.). — Inf. കൊല്ലും വി ജയനെ വല്ലെന്നാലും CrArj. however strong he be, or anyhow, mod. Inf. താങ്ങുവാന്‍ ഉററ വര്‍ക്കും വല്ലുകയില്ല Bhg. will not be possible. വല്ല 1. Inf. (see prec). 2. adj. part. able (see വല്ലപ്പോത്തു); possible, any. വ. നാള്‍, വ. പ്പോഴും at any time. മരിക്കവ. വണ്ണം KR. anyhow. (so വ. ജാതിയും, വ. വിധത്തിലും). പോകവല്ലേടവും Bhg. anywhere (& വ'ടത്തും). വല്ലതും n., വല്ലവനും, വല്ലവര്‍ any. 3. = വല്ലാ cannot, must not. വല്ലപ്പോത്തന്‍ (2) hunting name of deer. വ ല്ലാനപ്പോത്തു hunting name of bison (കാട്ടി).

vaṇikkụ S. (vaniǰ fr. പണി Ved. merchant). A trader ഇത്തരം വര്‍ക്കിന്‍റെ വാ ക്കു Nal.; pl. വണിക്കുകള്‍ Nal.; & വണിജന്മാര്‍ KR. hence; വാണിജ്യം. വണ്ടര്‍, see ബ —. വണ്ടറ്, വണ്ട്ര Palg. vu. (T. വണ്ടല്‍ the mire in tanks). Dirt, filth വണ്ട്രായ്ക്കിടക്ക, വണ്ട്രപി ടിച്ചിരിക്ക to be soiled (comp. വണ്ടി 4 & പാ ന്തല്‍). വണ്ടവാഴി= രാസ്ന (see വണ്ടുവാഴ); N. pr. of a place. പണ്ടാരങ്കോഴി KR4 Indian crane (T. വണ്ടാ നം heron). V1. pheasant (prh. = വണ്ടി 3.) (vu. പണ്ടാ —).

vaγa 5. (വകു = പകു). 1. A division, kind, sort ഒരു വകയായിരിക്ക something unmentionable (euph. for bad). ഈ വഹ (sic! often) കുടിയാന്മാര്‍ TR. such subjects. 2 an item, means മറെറാരു വക ഇല്ല, വെയിക്കാന്‍ എന്തു വക TP. വക കാണുന്നില്ല no livelihood. വക ഇല്ല no excuse etc. നിണക്കു വക പറഞ്ഞു TP. gave a hint. വകപോലേ according to one's ability. കഴിയാം വക TP. a maintenance. 3. property, stock. വകയും ഗതിയും ഉണ്ടു VyM. able to pay. വകയിന്മന്നു നികിതി കൊടുക്ക TR. മുളകുവകെക്കുള്ള നികിതി, പിഴവക, ക വര്‍ച്ചവക മുതല്‍ etc. different funds or kinds

v/?/thā S. (വൃ pleasing oneself, or വെറു തേ?). In vain, useless ദൈവവിശ്വാസം വൃ. ഭവിച്ചീടുമോ. Nal. അസ്ത്രത്തെ വൃ. വാക്കി KR. made it nugatory, harmless. ഖേദം വൃ. SiPu. വൃഥാഭാവം levity വൃ. തീര്‍ന്നു കാരണത്തിങ്കല്‍ ലയിക്ക Bhr. — ദുര്‍ഗ്ഗതി ഉണ്ടാം വൃഥാമൈഥു നത്തിന്നു Bhr. — വൃഥാലാപം vain talk. വൃഥാവല്‍ to no purpose, ചെന്നു വൃ'ലേ കൊ ണ്ടു വന്നു KR6. — vu. വൃഥാല്‍ f. i. വൃഥാല്‍ ഒരു ദോഷം അകപ്പെടും MR. undeservedly.

vēṭṭa T. C. Te. M. (Tu. bōṇḍa, വേടന്‍). Hunting, chase വേട്ടെക്കു പോയാന്‍ CC. പള്ളി വേ. višvam S. (simil. ശശ്വല്‍). 1. All = സര്‍വ്വം; also Superl. f. i. വിശ്വപവിത്രയാം കീര്‍ത്തി Brhmd. വിശ്വവില്ലാളിയായുളള കൃപര്‍ Bhr. 2. the universe, world ഇക്കണ്ട വി. അശേഷവും GnP. വിശ്വസൃഷ്ടിസ്ഥിതിനാശന കാരണന്‍ Sah. വിശ്വകര്‍മ്മാവു N. pr. the heavenly Architect.
