ka represents in Tdbh. the other gutturals (ചങ്കു fr. ശംഖം, കിരിയം fr. ഗൃഹം, കനം fr. ഘനം; കേമം, പക്കം fr. ക്ഷേമം, പക്ഷം; വ രാകന്‍ a M. fr. വരാഹന്‍). ക in the middle of words slides into യ (അരികത്തു, അരിയത്തു), വ (അക, അവ), ഹ (ആഹെ, വഹ TR.) or disappears (പുരുഷകാരം — പുരുഷാരം, ആകും — ആം, എടുത്തുകൊള്ളു — എടുത്തോളു, ഏറനാട്ടു കര — ട്ടര, ചെരിപ്പുകുത്തി — പ്പൂത്തി.).

kaṭṭa T. M. (C. Te. ഗഡ്ഡ fr. ഗഡു stout, thick). 1. Lump, mass, ചോരക്കട്ട coagulated blood. കട്ടവെക്ക, പിടിക്ക to concrete as തയിര്‍ etc. തീക്കട്ടകഴുകിയാല്‍ കരിക്കട്ട prov. 2. = മ ണ്‍കട്ട clod, sod. ഉരുട്ടുക ക., പെട്ടിക്ക. (for building). 3. clog, കട്ടച്ചെരിപ്പു Palg. = മെതിയടി. Hence: കട്ടക്കാര a thorny plant. കട്ടക്കാണം 1. the right of breaking the ground = തൂശിക്കാണം, കൊഴു അവകാശം. 2. a tenure of ricefields unfavorable to the cultivator, hence called കഷ്ടക്കാണം. കട്ടക്കിടാവു newborn infant തന്‍ ക. മായി തുഷ്ട യായ്നിന്നാള്‍ CG. അരയന്നക്ക. പോലെ RS. (see ചോരക്കുഞ്ഞു). കട്ടക്കോല്‍ instrument for breaking the clods after sowing, consisting of the handle, വ ടി, and the block, കട്ടക്കുട്ടി, കട്ടോടം. കട്ടങ്ങം So. tie on the neck of oxen. കട്ടപ്പാര a wooden spade. കട്ടറ (കട്ടുകറ) rust, ക. പിടിക്ക to rust.

čerippu T. M. (C. Te. Tu. ചെപ്പു, കെര്‍പ്പു) 1. Sandals, loose shoes (മെതിയടി). ചെ. കാലോടു കൂടേ അകായില്‍ കടന്നു TR. in a temple. 2. foundation, ചെ. ഇടുക to lay it B., gen. ചെരിപ്പടി; projection in a foundation. 3., (ചെരിയുക) reclining; a leveller for paddy fields. ചെരിപ്പടി 1. sole ചെരിപ്പടിത്തോല്‍ V1. മുണ്ടു ചെ. ക്ക് ഇട്ടു പറിക്കുന്നു wears the cloth down to the heels. ചെരിപ്പുകുത്തി shoemaker, vu. ചെരിപ്പൂത്തി, also ചെരിപ്പുകാരന്‍ V1. (which is also a shoe. wearer).

toḷi aM. (C. തൊള്‍പു destruction, aC. തുഴി to waste, separate, T. തൊള്ളു = തുളെക്ക) Destruction? വരവൊരുതൊളികിളര്‍തോള്‍ RC. (Rāvaṇa's arm). തൊളിക്ക (=തുളെക്ക? to pierce, sever?) ശരമാ രി മാര്‍വ്വിടത്തില്‍ ഏററുകൂടതൊളിത്ത പോതു RC 26. അറത്തൊളിത്തു പോയി RC 70. [though often used instead of തെളിക്ക fr. Cann. to Palg. it seems to be a distinct V. prh. allied to C. തുളിസു to cause to trample on? നെല്ലു തൊളിക്ക loc. to make tread out corn = ചവിട്ടിക്ക; (Weṭṭattuneāḍ/?/ etc.) in കന്നുത്തൊളി & — ത്തെളി, a noisy buffalo ploughing-match in any large ചേറുകണ്ടം also ചെരിപ്പിനു തൊളിക്ക = കേളിപ്പൂട്ടു No.; so ചവിട്ടിയുടെ നടുവില്‍നിന്നു ഒരാള്‍ക്കു തൊളിക്കാം; commonly: കന്നു തൊളിച്ചു മുളെക്ക Palg. or ആലയില്‍ ആക്ക No. to put into the stable].

pād/?/am S. (പദ്). 1. The foot, used in swearing ഇന്ദുകലാധര പാദത്താണ,ഗുരുപാദാം ബുജയുഗ്മത്താണ CrArj.; പാ'ത്തെ പിടിക്ക to worship, throw oneself on one's mercy, so പാ ദത്തിങ്കല്‍ വീഴുക = കാല്‍, അടി. 2. the base of a hill, pillar. 3. a quarter പാദാംശം, hence section of a work, as in Nal., Vētāḷa Charitam etc. പാദക്കുരടു So. wood-sandals. പാദകൂടം S.
