čāḍu S. (ചടു) Pleasing words ശാരിക പ്പൈതങ്ങള്‍ ചാടുക്കള്‍ ഓതി തുടങ്ങി CG., ഗ്ര ഢത്തിലുള്ളൊരു ചാടുകള്‍ (sic) ചൊല്കിലും PT., പാഠകന്മാരുടെ ചാടുവാക്യങ്ങള്‍ Nal. — ചാടുവാദി a flatterer.

čavaḍu (C. സ —to close the hands, or ചകടു?) A certain measure, = ¼ pint or = 360 നെന്മണി, or = 1/5 ആഴക്കു CS.

čuttiγa 1. = തുത്തിക Oil-vessel. T. M. (C. Te. സിദ്ദിഗെ). 2. and ചുത്തി hammer (T. Te. C. Tu. സു — = മുട്ടി) തട്ടാന്‍ ചുത്തി MR. (taxed) fr. ചുററു.

(ചുഴ) To encompass, surround ആഴി ചൂഴും ഊഴി KU. the sea-girt earth. — Inf. ചൂഴ, ചൂഴവേ round about, തന്നുടെ ചൂഴവുംനിന്നു CG. ചൂഴി surrounder, ocean. ചൂഴിക (T. ചൂഴി) 1. the wallplate that supports the cross-beams of a roof (വിട്ടം) — കു റുഞ്ചൂ. So. the cross wallplate; നെടുഞ്ചൂ. the long wallplate. 2. നെല്ലിടുന്ന ചൂഴിക a mat joined so as to stand like a cylinder for filling it with rice. ചൂഴ് surrounding പിള്ളരാല്‍ ചൂഴുററ കാര്‍വര്‍ണ്ണന്‍, വാനവര്‍ ചൂഴുററു മേദിനീതാനുമായി CG. surrounded by the Gods. — വന്ദികള്‍ ചൂഴു മായി നിന്നു (= ചുററും) തന്നുടെ ചൂഴും CG.

čuruḷ T. M. (C. Te. Tu. സു —) 1.
