H. čēlā (= S. ചേടന്‍) 1. One forced to become a Muhammedan. അവന്‍ ചേലാ he is of a family circumcised in Tippu's time. സു ല്ത്താന്‍ വന്നു ജനങ്ങളെ ഒക്കയും ചേലാവാക്കി കല്പിച്ചു TR. ചേലാവായിരിക്കുന്ന ആള്‍ (of a Brahman). 2. circumcision (ചേലാകര്‍മ്മം). ൬൪ ആമതില്‍ (A. D. 1788) ചേലാ വന്നു; ൬൪ആമ തില്‍ ചേലാവത്തില്‍ വേണാട്ടുകരെക്കു വാങ്ങി TR. ചേലാവില്‍ കൂടി he turned Muhammedan. ചേലാവുകാര്‍ Muhammedans.

čhāya 1. Shade ഛത്രഛായ Bhr. ഛാ കള്‍ എല്ലാററിന്നും ഛിദ്രം ഉണ്ടെന്നു തോന്നി Bhg. bad omen. ഛായാ ശൂഷ്കം ചെയ്തു Tantr. dry in the shade. 2. sun's wife, hence ഛായാ പതി sun. — ഛായഗ്രഹണി AR. taking the shadow (Rāks/?/zhl/?/asi). 3. image likeness ശബ്ദ ഛായ MC. a kind of sound. സ്വര്‍ണ്ണഛ്ശായ ര മ്യമാം കായം Nal. colour (hence ചായം).

čuvadụ T. M. 1. Footmark, vestige (= അടി). ചു. നോക്കി (or പിടിച്ചു) നടന്നു followed the trace. തന്നുടെ കാല്‍ചു കാണായ്വന്നു.
