Foundation (പല്ലിനു തറ ഇട്ടു the tooth is forming); the stone-rows of a house, the site of a house. 2. a mound, elevated ground; an altar, as പൂത്തറ, കല്‍ത്തറ, മണ്‍തറ V1.; ആറാട്ടുതറ; for a marriage ചെത്തിയടിച്ചു പുര ത്തില്‍ എങ്ങും നല്‍ത്തറയിട്ടു മെഴുകിയല്ലോ Anj.; a mound raised at the bottom of a tree, നികും ഭില ആല്ത്തറമേലേറി AR., അരയാ (ല്‍) ത്തറ etc. ആല്‍ത്തറമുകളേറി കാററും ഏററിരിക്കും SiPu. 3. ground (in T. = ധര) നിന്നെ അടല്‍ത്തറ മേല്‍ വീഴ്ത്തി RC. tvašṭāvụ S. (ത്വക്ഷ് = തക്ഷ്) A carpenter; one of the old Gods, creator, builder (=വിശ്വകര്‍മ്മാവു Sk.)
