ter̀ukka (T. to bruise) 1. v. a. To pull up the cloth, as when wading (തെരുക്ക); to roll up തിരി തെ. Tantr.; അരുവു തെറുത്തു കുത്തു ക V2. to hem; to stop water-courses. 2. v. n. (T. തെറുക) water to stand, to be dammed up. തെറുത്തു നോക്ക to fix one with the eye. തേരട്ട തെറുത്തു കിടക്ക MC. lies rolled up. CV. തെറുപ്പിക്ക to enclose water by dykes (= ചെറുക്ക). തെറുതെറുപ്പു = തെരുതെരുപ്പു (loc.)

taṇḍulam S. (തഡ് to beat) Threshed out paddy-grain.

tuḍappụ (1. 3.) A turn or measure, ഒരു തു. ploughing once. ഒരു തു. മാത്രം നീട്ടം (of ropes.)

tāyāḍuγa 1. (തായം 1. 2.) To act presumptuously; to do mischief, destroy V1. 2. (തായ്) to fondle, play. തായാട്ടം mischief, plunder, destruction of an enemy's garden, etc. തല്ലും താ'വും പറകV1. to talk threateningly in jest, to speak nonsense. തായാട്ടു presumption, spite; ill-turn. താ. കാട്ടു ന്ന ശിശുക്കളെത്താന്‍ താഡിച്ചു ശിക്ഷിച്ചു വ ളര്‍ക്ക വേണം CC. insolent children.

tābasaǹ S. (തപസ്സ്) Ascetic = ത പസ്വി; fem. താപസീജനങ്ങള്‍ Nal.; താപസ കൃശന്‍ Bhr. lean like a hermit. താപിഞ്ഛം S. = തമാലം (താപിഞ്ഛമഞ്ജരി യോട് ഒത്ത കളേബരം Anj.)

taiǰasam S. (തേജസ്സ്) Consisting of light & power, ഇക്കായം മേവും ജീവന്‍ തൈ ജസനാകുന്നതു KeiN.

taḍassụ = തട, തടച്ചല്‍. Obstruction, hindrance ഓരോരോ തടസ്സും പറഞ്ഞു TR. — also തടസ്സം f. i. നികിതി ത. കൂടാതേ എടുക്ക, ത. കാട്ടുന്നവരോടു ബലത്താലേ തടുത്തു നികിതി വാങ്ങുക വേണ്ടിവരും TR. the renitent. തടസ്ഥം (mod.) id. പണം കൊടുക്കുന്നതിന്നുള്ള തടസ്ഥങ്ങള്‍ TR. difficulties, opposition. അതിന്നു ഏതാനും ത. പറഞ്ഞു MR. objected to it. തടസ്ഥനിവാരണത്തിന്നു MR. to remove the hindrances. ത'ങ്ങള്‍ നേരിടും etc.

tiṇḍụ 1. An earthen wall, തിണ്ടിന്മേല്‍ നിന്നു തെറി പറക prov. 2. a blank (No. = വരന്പു), shoal V1. = തിട്ടു. 3. So. തിണ്ടെടുക്ക to pack a bale of cloth etc. denV. തിണ്ടിക്ക = the edges of a wound becoming swollen.
