taḍam S. 1. Declivity, shore (fr. തട 2). 2. dependent parts of the body, as കടിതടം, സ്തനതടം. 3. M. T. (തടവു) what is broad, wide, as garden-bed (ത. കെട്ടിക്ക Arb.), a basin round a tree to hold water (തടം ഇടുക; കൈ പ്പത്തടത്തില്‍, അവരത്തടത്തില്‍ തവള നില്ക്ക ട്ടേ prov.); the lair of wild animals പന്നി തട ത്തുനിന്നിളകി TP. — hence കവിള്‍ത്തടം cheek, കണ്ണിന്‍റെ ത. eye-socket (ക. തടവും വളരെ വീങ്ങി MR.), നെററിത്തടം, തേര്‍ത്തടം = തട്ടു etc. 4. size, circumference കഴുത്തു, കൈ, ൪ വിര ല്ക്കു ത. ചുരുക്കി TP. — തടം പിടിക്ക to measure. Hence: തടങ്കണ്‍ a large eye കരുന്ത., നളിന ത. മന്നന്‍, ത. ഇടപ്പെടത്തുറന്നു നോക്കി RC. stared with wide open eye. തടങ്കൈ RC. a large hand. തടങ്കൊങ്ക full breast, മല്ലത്ത. CG. തടന്തല്ലുക B. to embarrass, perplex (to beat the shore, as waves?). തടന്തിരള്‍തോളന്‍ RC. broad-chested. തടമാട്ടം a cheek. ത'ത്തില്‍ അടയാളം കാട്ടുക to blush (loc.). തടമുല full breast, & തടവന്‍മുല CG. തടവയറന്‍ (see under തട).

tiγa/?/uγa T. aM. To shine (or = തിക ളു?). തികഴ്വീരന്‍ ഇരാവണി RC. splendid (or perfect?) hero, വരം തികഴും വടിവു, വരന്തി കഴ്പോര്‍ RC.

tāčči T. M. (തായി or Tdbh ധാത്രി) 1. A foster-mother. 2. one's mother's mother.

tuvekka T. M.(= തോയ്ക്ക) l. To steep, soak in water, പരുത്തിയില തുവെച്ചു കണ്ണില്‍ വീഴ്ത്തുക a. med. 2. So. to temper iron. 3. No. = തുമെക്ക to sneeze, snort. തുവ്വല്‍ M. C. = തൂവല്‍.

To be distended, stout; തുടുതുട (= തുടര), incessantly, ശരനിരയാല്‍ തു. പൊഴിന്തനന്‍ തു. വള൪ ശരമാരി RC.; തു. കണ്ണീ൪ ഒഴുകി KR.; തു. വന്ന രുധിരം Bhr. തുടുക്കെന plump (= തുടം), പാദത്തെ തു. ക്കണ്ടു Bhr.; തു. ക്കാണായിതു തുട CC.; തുടുക്കെനവേ നടക്കും RC. closely; also as Verb: തുടുതുട ക്കിയും മദിച്ചു Bhr 8. — (തുടുക്കു T. insolence). II.

taḍastham S. (തടം) 1. standing on the shore, ത'മായി നോക്കുന്നവന്‍ a by-stander, neutral spectator. 2. mediation തടത്തം പ റക V1., അനന്തരവന്മാര്‍ തടസ്ഥം ചെയ്ക MR. 3. = തടസ്സു q. v. തടസ്ഥത പറക to arbitrate. തടസ്ഥത്വം mediation. ത. പറക, പിടിക്ക etc. ത. എന്നുള്ള മാര്‍ഗ്ഗം ഫലം ചെയ്കയില്ല Nal. തടസ്ഥന്‍ a neutral, mediator, juryman.

tēṇṇa & തേങ്ങ, (തെങ്ങങ്കായി). A cocoanut, ൧ഠഠഠ തേങ്ങക്കു ൧ഠ ഉറുപ്യ വില ക ണ്ടു TR. (in 1798). The fruit has many stages ഇളന്നീര്‍, ഇളന്തേങ്ങ, പഴുത്തതു, വരണ്ടതു, കൊട്ട, കുരുത്തിട്ടതു GP 69. കരിക്കു, കൂരിത്തേങ്ങ. — Its parts: തേങ്ങക്കണ്ണു, — ക്കുടുക്ക, — നൈ, — പ്പാല്‍ (തേങ്ങാപ്പാല്‍ വൃഷ്യം GP.), — പ്പിണ്ണാ ക്കു (or — പ്പീര), തേങ്ങാവെള്ളം (തണുത്തുള്ളു GP.). — obsc. pudend. muliebre. — Kinds: അക്കില്‍വാരി — or കടല്‍ത്തേ. Lodoicea Sechell. — ചെന്തേ. q. v. തേങ്ങത്തൊണ്ടു an empty cocoanut. തേങ്ങാണി vu. Cal. = തേങ്ങനൈ. തേങ്ങമുറി a piece of cocoanut; breaking cocoanuts, as for feeding workmen on entering a new house. തേങ്ങയേറു the ceremony of throwing cocoanuts, തേ'൦ പാട്ടും കഴിപ്പിക്കുവന്‍ TP. തേങ്ങക്കുച്ച് No. the fibrous tuft clinging to the പെണ്മുറി after the nut is husked. തേങ്ങുക, see under തേക്കുക I. തേച്ചല്‍, see തേക്കുക II., തേയുക.
