taḍam S. 1. Declivity, shore (fr. തട 2). 2. dependent parts of the body, as കടിതടം, സ്തനതടം. 3. M. T. (തടവു) what is broad, wide, as garden-bed (ത. കെട്ടിക്ക Arb.), a basin round a tree to hold water (തടം ഇടുക; കൈ പ്പത്തടത്തില്‍, അവരത്തടത്തില്‍ തവള നില്ക്ക ട്ടേ prov.); the lair of wild animals പന്നി തട ത്തുനിന്നിളകി TP. — hence കവിള്‍ത്തടം cheek, കണ്ണിന്‍റെ ത. eye-socket (ക. തടവും വളരെ വീങ്ങി MR.), നെററിത്തടം, തേര്‍ത്തടം = തട്ടു etc. 4. size, circumference കഴുത്തു, കൈ, ൪ വിര ല്ക്കു ത. ചുരുക്കി TP. — തടം പിടിക്ക to measure.
