(തടവു) what is broad, wide, as garden-bed (ത. കെട്ടിക്ക Arb.), a basin round a tree to hold water (തടം ഇടുക; കൈ പ്പത്തടത്തില്‍, അവരത്തടത്തില്‍ തവള നില്ക്ക ട്ടേ prov.); the lair of wild animals പന്നി തട ത്തുനിന്നിളകി TP. — hence കവിള്‍ത്തടം cheek, കണ്ണിന്‍റെ ത. eye-socket (ക. തടവും വളരെ വീങ്ങി MR.), നെററിത്തടം, തേര്‍ത്തടം = തട്ടു etc. 4. size, circumference കഴുത്തു, കൈ, ൪ വിര ല്ക്കു ത. ചുരുക്കി TP. — തടം പിടിക്ക to measure. ter̀i T. M. Snappish, dashing, clashing. തെ. കാട്ടുക TP. to behave insolently, തെ. വാക്കു offensive, mischievous, indecent words V1., No. chiefly to abuse in anger, (diff. fr. ചൊറിവാക്കു). തെറിക്ക T.
