dhāraṇam S. (ധ൪) Holding, as ഗ ൪ഭധാ., ജീവധാ. etc. ധാരണ 1. retention ഏതുപ്രകാരം വന്നു എന്ന് എനിക്കു നല്ല ധാ. യും ഇല്ല TR. recollection. ധാ. വരുത്തി brought him to his senses; collection of the mind, at the same time restraining the breath. കേവലയാകിയ ധാ. CG.; എങ്കല്‍ ധാ. ചെയ്യും ചിത്തം Bhg. a mind settled on me. ഇക്കാ൪യ്യപ്രപഞ്ചം മി ത്ഥ്യയെന്ന ധാരണ ഉറക്കില്‍ KeiN. persuasion, resolution. 3. a rule യാഗക൪മ്മസ്ഥാ ലധാ. നിശ്ചയം ഇല്ലെനിക്കു VetC.

dhārāḷam S. (ധാരം q. v., Te. C. T. M.) Profusion. ധാരാള രൂപമാം പുഷ്പവ൪ഷങ്ങളും Nal. showering down incessantly. ധാ' മായി പ്പെയ്ക vu.; മുതല്‍കൊണ്ടു ധാ'മായിച്ചെലവഴിച്ചു TR. liberally, prodigally. ധാ. വെക്ക to become a spendthrift. ധാ'മായിപ്പറക to speak fluently, enlarge upon; (also ധാറാളം mod.)

dhūbam S. (G. thyō, L. thus) Incense & aromatic vapour. കാഷ്ഠത്തിന്നു ധൂ. കാട്ടൊല്ല prov.; ധൂപദീപം കാട്ടുക; ധൂപനിവേദ്യാദികളെ ക്കഴിച്ചു VetC.
