noṇṇụ (T. നുങ്കു, Te. — the unripe pulp of a palmyra-nut; fr, നുണ്‍?). 1. In Palg. when tender, is called ഇളന്ന (T. ഇളനുങ്കു comp. ഇളന്നീര്‍); when the soft kernel can be taken out കൊഴന്പന്‍ or കുഴന്പന്‍ കണ്ണു; the fruit deprived of the pulp: നൊങ്ങു, നൊങ്ങണ്ടി. 2. in Trav. a cocoanut the kernel of which swells out into a sweet spongy substance through lying for a long time, No. പൊങ്ങു.
