niruddham S. (നി) Obstructed ഭ ര്‍ത്തൃനിരുദ്ധ Bhg. in spite of the husband. മ ന്ത്രങ്ങള്‍കൊണ്ടു നി'നായ്പോകയാല്‍ അന്ധനായ ഭോഗി CG. നിരുദ്ധി = നിരോധം, in നിരുദ്ധ്യാസനം KeiN. constancy in studying the Vēdānta or carrying it into practice = മനസ്സില്‍ ധരിച്ചതിനെ സ്വാനുഭൂതിയില്‍ കാണ പ്പെടുന്നതു VedD.

naǹ 1. = നാലു, in നന്നാലു Every four, നന്നാങ്കു 4X4. 2. = നല്‍, in നന്നാറി, നന്നി ലം a good field, etc.

nāγuṇam A medic, root, bazar-drug. ഇപ്പിയും നാ. a. med.

naya (T. aC. നചൈ desire = നച്ചു). A bait for alligators, നയവെക്ക, കാട്ടുക to allure So., (കാളം വെക്ക No.).

nīrasam S. (നി൪, രസം) 1. Sapless, insipid. നീരസന്മാ൪ക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞീടുവാന്‍ പണി Mud. the tasteless, dull (opp. സരസന്മാ൪). 2. distaste, disgust നിങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് എന്നോടു നീ. ഉണ്ടാവാന്‍ TR.; അവരോടു നീരസപ്പെട്ടു was displeased. — നീരസിഭാവം = മുഷിച്ചല്‍. denV. നീരസിക്ക to loathe; (sometimes used = നിരസിക്ക q. v.)

nāṇiyam 5. (S. നാണകം a coin, prob. fr. നാണം) 1. Honesty, credit നാ'ത്തി ന്ന് ഒരു ഹാനി വരാതേ without sacrifice of dignity. നാ'ത്തിന്നുവെട്ടിക്കൊള്ളുക* ഇനി വേ ണ്ടു Mud. for honor's sake. നാ'ത്തിന്നു ചാപ ങ്ങള്‍ മുറിക്കയും Mud. — esp. fame. നാ'മാക്ക to celebrate, also of ill-fame. കൃതഘ്നന്‍ എന്നു ള്ളൊരു നാ. നീളേ നടക്കും Mud. all will call him ungrateful. 2. what is current, as reports, proverbs, പുതുനാണ്യം T. V1. news; customs of the country (in Te. also നാഡ്യം & നാണ്യം, fr. നാടു?) 3. a coin, esp. a gold-coin; നാ. നട ത്തുക to issue money. ഈ നാണ്യം അടിച്ചിട്ടും നടപ്പാക്കീടും ഇല്ല TR. neither coined nor circulated. കള്ളനാ. [* al. കൊല്ലുക] നാണിഭം id. 1. നാണിഭ കീര്‍ത്തിക്കു ഹാനി Nasr. നാ'ത്തില്‍ ഇതു ചെയ്യേണം ChVr. in sterling manner, famously. 2. അവന്‍റെ നാ. So. his manners. വെള്ളായ്മനാ. agriculture. 3. കള്ളനാ. a false coin TR. നാണിയക്കാരന്‍ a worthy man. നാണിയക്കേടു what is discreditable, an indignity; (B. also false coin). നാണ്യം = നാണിയം 1. as നാ. കെടുക്ക, പോ ക്കുക V1. to defame. 2. നാ. വീണുപോയി he is sunk in estimation. 3. കള്ളനാ. etc.

naraǹ S. (& നൃ, G. anër). 1. A man. pl. നരന്മാര്‍ AR.; നരര്‍കൂട്ടം V2. an assembly. 2. a human being. — നല്ലോരു ജന്മം നരജന്മം Anj.; നരവേഷം a human form. നരോത്തമന്‍ the best of men. 3. a foot-soldier നരകരിതുരഗ രഥികള്‍ Bhr. നരനാരായണന്മാര്‍ Krshṇa and Arjuna, KumK.

nāḍa (T. നാടാ, Mahr.) 1. A tape, ribbon, belt. കൈനാ. the gripe of a shield. കടവിന്‍റെ നാ. V2. a wharf or key. 2. a shuttle V1., നാ. നെയ്വാന്‍ വശം ഉണ്ടു TR.

nuδam S. (part, of നു) Praised. നുതി S. praise നുതി ചെയ്ത നേരം CG.; നുതി കള്‍ ചെയു പ്രാ൪ത്ഥിച്ചു VetC. denV. ഭയരഹിതമതികളെ നുതിക്കയിം Bhr. = സുതിക്ക.
