pustaγam S (പുസ്തം smeared, പൂചു = എഴുതുക). A manuscript, book, chiefly written on paper or printed; (ഗ്രന്ഥം on palm-leaves). നാലഞ്ചു പു. കൈക്കല്‍ ധരിച്ചു SiPu പു. എഴു തുക; ചേര്‍ക്ക, കെട്ടുക etc.

paṭṭi 1. (T. loose condition, prostitute, fr. പടു). Miserable, പട്ടിക്കുതിരകള്‍കൊണ്ടു വന്നു കെട്ടി Nal. vicious. പട്ടിമാടു useless cattle (abuse). 2. (T. പാട്ടി) a bitch ഊര്‍പട്ടി; dog in general ആണ്പടി Vl. കുരെക്കും പ. കടിയാ prov. (hence in So. the fem. പട്ടിച്ചി). 3. T. M. C. a fold for cattle, sheep. പട്ടികെട്ടുക (on the open field). ആട്ടിന്‍പട്ടി a sheep-pen on high pillars (Palg.); place where slaves stand to receive their hire. 4. Palg. N. pr. m., — വേലന്‍. പട്ടിക്കാടു N. pr. a place between Trichoor & Palg. പട്ടിക്കാട്ടിലേ നായി ( = കാട്ടുപട്ടി = പു ലി) കടിച്ചിട്ടു വീട്ടിലേ നായേ തല്ലുന്നത് prov. പട്ടിക്കൂട്ടം V1. a litter of pups. പട്ടിച്ചാല്‍ working a ricefield after manuring with leaves & preparing the squares. പട്ടിച്ചെവി Acrostichonarifolium, Rh. പട്ടിപ്പടി the gate of a fold. പട്ടിപുലി a small leopard.

pārvatyam (Tdbh. of പ്രാവ൪ത്യം? as if fr. പ്രവൃത്തി q. v.; but T. Te. V1. have pārapatyam, C. pārup. superintendence, management, as if fr. പാര്‍ക്ക). 1. Local government, administration മോര്‍ വില്ക്കുന്നതായേ ഊ രിലേ പാരപത്യം എന്തിനു prov., also പാറോ ത്യം; നാട്ടില്‍ ഓരോരുത്തര്‍ പാറോവത്തി ചെ യ്തു, പാറവത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവന്‍ TR. 2. Trav. a subordinate revenue situation. പാ൪വത്യക്കാര൪ a subordinate Collector & Magistrate (Trav. = അധികാരി). സുല്ത്താ ന്‍റെ പാര്‍പ്പത്യക്കാരന്മാര്‍, പാര്‍പ്പത്തിക്കാരന്‍ TR. (In Mal. a district about as large as 4 amšams (അംശം 2) together, was formerly under 1 പാ൪വത്യക്കാരന്‍: f. i. പാ൪വ്വതിക്കാര്‍ പണ ത്തിന്നു വരാറായി No. said only by very old people).

pa/?/aγuγa T. M. (പഴ) 1. To grow old, be worn out വസ്ത്രങ്ങള്‍ പഴകി ജീര്‍ണ്ണമാ യാല്‍ മറെറാന്നു പകരുന്ന പോലേ VCh. ഗൃഹം, ദേഹം പഴകുന്പോള്‍ KR. 2. to be seasoned, accustomed. ഇട പ. to be acquainted. പഴകി പ്പോയി No. an old hand at something. 3. No. to delay = വൈകുക, (ചോറു വെച്ചിട്ടു നന്ന പ ഴകിപ്പോയി waited for us). പഴകിയതു 1. a worn out, deserted house. 2. = പഴഞ്ചോറു. paḷḷi 5. (also S. fr. prec. cavity, hole) 1. S. A hut, small settlement of jungle-tribes (C. in N. pr. haḷḷi; in Palg. f.i. കോയ്പളളി, നല്ലേപ്പളളി, ഏലപ്പളളി). 2. a public building. ഊര്‍പ്പ. ദൈവം KU. tutelar God in a Brahman village. മഠപ്പളളി; എഴുത്തുപ. a school No.; esp. in hunting ഒളിപ്പ. (for രാവുനായാട്ടുകാര്‍), മടപ്പ. (for the king കോയ്മെക്കു), ഊര്‍പ്പ.
