pēṭṭa T. Te. C. A suburb (Tu. pēnṭe bazar), chiefly in N. pr. മഞ്ചേശ്വരപ്പേട്ടയില്‍ TR. — വണ്ടിപ്പേട്ട Palg. = വണ്ടിത്താവളം.

pōṇči 1. A cap made of പാള No.; also a pouch made of പാള‍ tied round the waist & used only by those who go to worship പെ രുമാള്‍ in കൊട്ടിയൂര്‍. 2. E. punch, പോ. ക ലക്കുക.

piγam S. The Indian cuckoo = കുയില്‍, പികനിനാദം RS. its note, പികമേഞ്ചൊല്ലേ RC. Oh thou sweetly speaking! പികവാണി മാര്‍ Sah. പികവചന VetC.

paṇkti S. (പഞ്ച) 1. Assembly of 5 or 10. — പ. സ്യന്ദനന്‍,— കണ്ഠന്‍, — കന്ധരന്‍ etc. = ദശമുഖന്‍ KR. 2. a line, row രഥപ. കള്‍ Bhg. — പ. ഹീനന്‍ a Brahman that has lost the right of eating with his caste.

parimi So., (T. പരുമന്‍ large). A large round basket. (I. പരി): പരിമിതം S. measured, abridged. പരിമിതി = പരിമാണം, as ദശയോജനാപ. കലര്‍ന്നു AR5. (= 10 Yojana wide). പരിമിളിതം S. well united. തങ്ങളില്‍ പ'തസു കൃതം ഇടചേര്‍ന്നു Nal. in connubial happiness. (part. pass.)

pāšubaδam S. Belonging to പ ശുപതി Siva, esp. a charmed weapon, Bhr. പാശുപാല്യം S. the work of പശുപാലര്‍.

paral T. M. Tu. (C. haraḷ, Te. prāl, fr. പരു). 1. Grit, coarse grain, gravel; in തേററാ ന്പരല്‍ a kernel, 2. a cowry-shell = കവിടി, in astr. രാശികളില്‍ വീഴുന്ന പ. സംഖ്യയുടെ ഏ റക്കുറച്ചല്‍ TrP.; പ. എടുത്തു നിരത്തി Mud. (the astrologer for calculating). ജ്യോതിഷ ത്തിന്‍ പ. ഉണ്ടോ Pay. 3. fish newly formed from spawn (പരിഞ്ഞില്‍). പരല്പേര്‍ (2) a symbolical name in astr. computation; പരപ്പേരുകള്‍ CS. chiefly the names given by the learned to the fractions. പരല്‍മീന്‍ a river-fish with many bones V1. (also = രാജീവം Cyprinus niloticus), പ. മേ ദുരം GP.

parakka 5. (similar S. par) 1. To spread, be diffused, extended രക്തം പരന്നിതു ഭ്രമി യില്‍ AR.; ദീനം മററാ൪ക്കും പരന്നില്ല infected.

paγaram (see foll.) 1.
