paral T. M. Tu. (C. haraḷ, Te. prāl, fr. പരു). 1. Grit, coarse grain, gravel; in തേററാ ന്പരല്‍ a kernel, 2. a cowry-shell = കവിടി, in astr. രാശികളില്‍ വീഴുന്ന പ. സംഖ്യയുടെ ഏ റക്കുറച്ചല്‍ TrP.; പ. എടുത്തു നിരത്തി Mud. (the astrologer for calculating). ജ്യോതിഷ ത്തിന്‍ പ. ഉണ്ടോ Pay. 3. fish newly formed from spawn (പരിഞ്ഞില്‍). പരല്പേര്‍ (2) a symbolical name in astr. computation; പരപ്പേരുകള്‍ CS. chiefly the names given by the learned to the fractions. പരല്‍മീന്‍ a river-fish with many bones V1. (also = രാജീവം Cyprinus niloticus), പ. മേ ദുരം GP.

pāγuγa (T. പാവുക, C. Tu. hāku). 1. To lay things regularly on the ground, പാകിയ നൂല്‍ yarn warped; to lay a ceiling, to board അട്ടം പാകുക, പലക പാവിയ പുര; to build a ship തേക്കു കൊണ്ട് അടിപായി TP. 2. to fix in the ground regularly തേങ്ങാ പാ കുന്ന സ്ഥലം a nursery of palm-plants; ഞാറു പാകി നടുക to sow thickly for transplantation, so അടക്ക, പിലാക്കുരു, കാപ്പിക്കുരു, മുളകു etc. 3. v. n. to be fixed. വേര്‍ പാകി നില്ക്ക CG. to be well rooted. മേഘങ്ങള്‍ പാകിനിന്നു CG. in the sky. പാകും ഒണ്‍കിരണങ്ങള്‍ RC. rays of the sun (dense? fixed?). ഞരന്പു പാകീട്ടൊ ട്ടേറ ഛര്‍ദ്ദിക്ക Nid. prominent veins? pum S. Male (fr. പുമംസ് S.) പുംശ്ചലി S. a harlot (running after men) ഭോ ഗാല്‍ ഉപായയായ പും. Bhr. പുംസവനം S. a domestic ceremony on the mother's perceiving the signs of conception (=പുളികുടി‍); in the 5th or 7th month പുംസം (Tdbh.) നല്ല പുളികുടി എന്നിവ ഭം ഗിയോടേ കഴിപ്പിച്ചു വിപ്രന് SG.; also പുങ്ങം q. v. പുംസ്ത്വം S. manhood പുംസ്ത്വശക്തി ചെറുകും Nid. (semen). തന്നീട വേണം എനിക്കു പു. Brhmd. change me into a male child. II.

(പുരിക്ക). 1. To twist. കയറുപി രിക്കുന്നവന്‍ a cord-maker. മണല്‍പിരിച്ചുന്തുലാ ക്കി prov. കഴുത്തു പിരിച്ചുകൊന്നു Brhmd. rooted up. തലകെട്ടി or തലാട്ടി (vu.) പി. No. = വാര്‍ മുടി a false cue or chignon. 2. to pluck cocoanuts; collect പാട്ടം പി. TP., നികിതി etc. (Te. C. pīku). II.
