paḍaṇṇụ T. aM. 1. A tent, awning മണിപ്പടങ്ങിന്‍ മിചെവൈത്തു RC.; also a flag (Te.). ഉരപ്പെഴും പടക്കു വേന്തന്‍ RC. 2. So. a slip put under timber to push it more easily, പ. തടി B. (a roller).

pēšalam S. (പിശ്, G. poikilos). 1. Pleasing, beautiful പേശലാംഗി Genov. പേ ശലകേശം, — വാദിനി CG. പാദങ്ങള്‍ ഏശും അ പ്പേശലമായ രേണുലേശം CG. 2. dexterous.

paṭṭišam S. A sharp-edged spear (also പട്ടസം, — യം).

pēna (Gond. penk fr. പേ? penates V1.) 1. A ghost, spirit അമ്മ മരിച്ചു പേനയായി കൂ ടി TP. പേന കൂടി the cause of children's illness f. i. കൊതിപ്പേന കൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു said of infants that wish for every thing. The malady is cured by an offering in the chamber of the ancestors പേനെക്കു കൊടുക്ക. 2. a miser of the worst description.

pāṇ (T. = പണ്‍ melody) prob. = പാഴ്, പാന്തല്‍ or പാന്പു‍ in: പാണ്കുഴി snake-den or bog-hole? പാ. തന്നില്‍ കിടക്കു, ആണു കിടന്നൊരു പാ.;പാണ്കുഴി എന്നോര്‍ത്ത നേത്രങ്ങള്‍ നിര്‍മ്മിച്ചു CG.
