Kinds: വല്‍ പ. double the value of the money borrowed KU., തൊടു പ. (& ചൂണ്ടിപ്പ.) mortgage of grounds without handing them over, ചുരിപ., ജന്മപ. etc.

parakka 5. (similar S. par) 1. To spread, be diffused, extended രക്തം പരന്നിതു ഭ്രമി യില്‍ AR.; ദീനം മററാ൪ക്കും പരന്നില്ല infected.

punnāram (പുന്‍ = പുതു?) or പൊ ന്നാരം Caressing, flattery. വാക്കിന്‍റെ പു. V1. the charm of his words. പുന്നാരിക്ക = ഓമനിക്ക, കൊഞ്ചുക V2. പുന്നാരക്കാരന്‍ a flatterer. പുന്നെല്‍ (= പുതുനെല്‍) or പുല്‍നെല്‍ new rice. പുന്നെലരിയും ചെറു താലിയും Palg. I/?/avars (a Tāli, present of money, 71/2 measures rice, betel & cloth taken to the bride's house). പുന്നെലവിലും വരട്ടുതേങ്ങയും (song — for Nivēdya to Gaṇapati). പുന്നെല്‍കൂഴം = കൂഴ ത്തരി of പുന്നെല്‍. — ചെറുകല്‍ പു a kind of rice (S. മാതുലാനി). പുന്മ (T = പുല്മ fr. പുല്‍ littleness) = പുതുമ in പുഞ്ചിരിപ്പുന്മ Anj. പുന്മൂട = പുല്‍മൂട.

poḍanna (പുടം?). As much as can be held by two hands ഒരു പൊ. അരി (= കൊടന്ന).

pārāyaṇam S. (പാരം, അയനം). Getting through, reading through രാമായണ പാ'ത്തിന്നു ഒരു ശാസ്ത്രികള്‍ വേണം TR. പാരായണികന്‍ S. a reader.
