puṇkham S. The feathered part of an arrow. ഉടക്കു‍.

parvam S. (പരുസ്സ്). 1. Knot, joint as of bamboos, limbs, etc. 2. division of time, period (esp. വാവു) season, festival. 3. comm. പരുവം the different stages of development esp. in the growth of certain plants (see തെ ങ്ങു, നെല്ലു), or the degree of ripeness in fruits (see തേങ്ങ, ചക്ക, അടക്ക). 4. a chapter, of which Bhr. has 18, hence പ. വായിക്ക to read the Bhr.; also a song in general ദുഷിപ. Nasr.; പ'ങ്ങളും കാണ്ഡങ്ങളും Bhr. & Ram. പരുവമാക T. So. par̀akka T. M. (C. Te. Tu. pār̀u, fr. par̀a to flee, flow; even P.). 1. pirakkuγa 1. = വി — To mix, to rub into മീന്‍ മുറിച്ചു ഉപ്പു പിരക്കി വെച്ചു, ഉപ്പും മുളകും മഞ്ഞളും പിരക്കിയിടുക, വെക്ക No. (f. i. അച്ചാര്‍). 2. to set an elephant to work, drive him V1.; പിരക്കിതെളിക്ക Weṭṭ. to urge on cattle (with a shout), കന്നു പിരക്ക Palg. = തിരിക്കുക to turn them.
