What is broken, maimed. 2. a stinging fly. 3. a plant the berries of which are used in popguns. പൊട്ടക്കണ്ണന്‍ So. blind, — ണ്ണി fem. പൊട്ടക്കലം a broken water-pot. പൊട്ടക്കാവളം the stinking Sterculia foetida (പൊട്ടക്കാളം Palg. a firewood-tree). പൊട്ടക്കിണറു a blind well, — ററില്‍ തളളിവി ട്ടാര്‍ Bhr.; also പൊട്ടക്കൂപം. പൊട്ടക്കുളം a waterless tank അട്ടെക്കു പൊ. prov. (so പൊട്ടക്കുഴി). പൊട്ടച്ചെവിയന്‍ deaf. പൊട്ടപ്പറന്പു No. = വെറും. പൊട്ടപ്പുല്ലു a kind of grass. പൊട്ട പറയാതേ RS. no nonsense! പൊട്ടയിടുക to smack. (No. നൊട്ട 2.)
