Flower, blossom പുവിനുവനം പുക്കാന്‍ Bhr. — pl. പൂക്കള്‍ & പൂവുകള്‍ CG. പൂ പറിപ്പാന്‍ CG. & പൂവു; ചില ഫലം പൂവില്‍ കൊഴിഞ്ഞു പോം Bhr. in the blossoming stage; also = crop ഒരു പൂ, ഇരിപ്പൂ, മുപ്പൂ or കന്നി —, മകര —, മേടപ്പൂ see പൂപ്പു. — പൂവും നീരും see നീര്‍ 4. 2. the comb of a cock, കോഴിപ്പൂ ചൂടുമാറോ prov.; the gills of a fish, white marks on a cow's tail; film, speck on the eye കണ്ണില്‍ പൂ വരിക V1. കണ്ണിലേപ്പൂവു പോം a. med.; the point of a knife, saw-tooth, etc. flowers on cloth കരപൂവുള്ള തുണി. 3. a very high number പൂവു 100,000 millions, മഹാപൂവു one million of millions CS. 4. menses. Cpds. പൂ ഉറുമാല്‍ a gay coloured hand-kerchief പൂ. കഴിച്ചു TP. പൂക്കച്ച Sk. a zone, girdle, വെററിലപ്പാട്ടിയും പൂ. യും (of a woman; song). പൂക്കണ്ണന്‍ (2) one who has a speck on the eye. — പൂക്കണ്ണി 1. fem. of prec. 2. = പൂങ്കുരല്‍ a flower-bunch. പൂക്കണ്ണി കുത്തുക to begin to flower. v. n. പൂക്ക 1. To blossom വസന്തം വന്നിങ്ങു മരങ്ങള്‍ പൂത്തു KR. പൂത്തമരം a tree in blossom. പൂത്തത് ഒക്ക മാങ്ങയല്ല prov. പൂ വാത്ത, പൂക്കാത്ത bearing no blossom, prov. 2. to bud, expand പൂത്ത ചോകിന്‍ കൂട്ടം RC. increasing host, 3. to menstruate പൂത്തിരിക്കുന്നവള്‍; തൃപ്പൂത്തിരിക്ക (goddesses, queens, etc.). 4. to become mouldy. നാവു പൂത്തു തടിച്ചു Nid. furred. പൂത്തു പോയി spoiled as fruits. പൂത്തമരം decayed wood (= പുഴുത്ത & പൂതലടിച്ചമരം). VN. I. പൂക്കല്‍ flowering; നാപ്പൂക്കല്‍ sore mouth. II. പൂപ്പു 1. growing; ഇളന്പൂപ്പു (loc.) = അന്നു ണ്ണിഫലം annual vegetables. 2. a crop കൊല്ലത്തില്‍ മൂന്നു പൂപ്പു prov. sowing & reaping thrice (Kanni, Maγara, Mēḍa) also പൂവല്‍ & പൂ. 3. mould, verdigris, moss പൂ. പിടിക്ക Vl. 4. menses. CV. പൂപ്പിക്ക to cause to blossom മററുള്ളൃ തുക്കളും തന്മരം തന്മരം പൂപ്പിച്ചു CG.

paγuγa (whence പക, പകല്‍) T. aM., aC. പസു, C. Tu. hakku.— To be separate. VN. പക്തി 1. division, പ. യിടുക to divide. പ. കഴിഞ്ഞു KU. the distribution was over. മുതല്‍ക്കാര്യം പ. കഴിക്ക‍ TR., മുതല്‍ പ. ചെ യ്തു MR. 2. a share ദായഭാഗം = ദായാദിക്കാ രുടെ പ. VyM. equal share, പാതി; com. for a half, നേര്‍പകുതി a full half. 3. division of territory = തുക്കുടി, f. i. മലയാം പ. a province. വടക്കേപ്പ. യില്‍ അധികാരി TR. പകുക്ക To divide, = ഹരിക്ക Arith.; രാജ്യം പകുത്തു കൊടുത്തു KU.; രണ്ടിനെ അഞ്ചെടുത്തു പകുത്താന്‍ രണ്ടിന്ന് ൫ ഛേദമായിട്ടിരിക്കും Gan. (= 2/5); ചതുരശ്രത്തെ രണ്ടായി (or രണ്ടു) പ. Gan.; നാലായി വേദങ്ങള്‍പകത്തു Bhr. Vyāsa. ഗ്രന്ഥം പകുത്തു നോക്കുക TP. to look for a text (a kind of sortes Virgilianæ). മുടിയിന്നി (or ന്ന) തന്നേ പകുത്തു തൂണോടു കെട്ടി TP. tied her by the hair to the pillar. piḍāraǹ T. M. (see പിഷാരന്‍). A snake-catcher V1.; a caste making painted shields, boxes, etc. No. = തോല്ക്കൊല്ലന്‍; a class of lower Brahman s, who drink liquor & worship Sacti (or a Kāḷi, called പിടാരി V1.) KU. കാ വില്‍ ഇട്ടമ്മല്‍ ഇല്ലത്ത് ഏളേ പിടാരര്‍ TR. (with കഷായവസ്ത്രം, നിത്യ സന്യാസത്വം Cal.)

pišunaǹ S. (പിശകുക). A calumniator, dangerous fellow ഏഷണിക്കാരന്‍. — also miser (=പിശുക്കന്‍); in V1. പിശിനിക്കാ രന്‍ (as if fr. പിശിന്‍ T. = പശ).

paδaruγa 5. (പത) 1. To be precipitate, overhasty പോവെന്നെഴുന്നു പതറിത്തിരി ഞ്ഞു RC. 2. aM. to be confused, defeated (in comparison) ഇടിയൊലി പതറുമാറേ, മുകി ലൊലി പതറുംചൊല്‍, ഓടുന്ന തെന്നല്‍ പതറും നടതകും തേര്‍ RC. quicker than wind, louder than thunder. 3. T. M. Te. (fr. പെയര്‍ see പേര്‍പ്പു). 1. A name, as it were the duplicate of a person or thing. ഇല്ലപ്പേര്‍, വീട്ടുപേര്‍ the family name. പേര്‍ ഇടുക to name (= വിളിക്ക, കെട്ടുക). തക്ഷ കന്‍ എന്ന പേരിട്ടു കൊണ്ടു Bhr. പൈതങ്ങള്‍ രണ്ടിന്നും പേരിട്ടുകൊള്ളേണം CG. ഗോക്കളെ പേര്‍ ചൊല്ലി നീള വിളിക്കയും CG. കണിശന്‍ ഇനിക്കു മുന്പേ പേര്‍ വിളിച്ചു prov. (why call my name so often). പേരുമാത്രവും കിട്ടാ & പേര ്‍മാത്രം ശേഷിക്കും PT. will utterly perish. എന്നു പേര്‍ പൊങ്ങും Bhg. called. 2. a person, individual നാലു പേര്‍ = നാല്വര്‍; രണ്ടു പേര ്‍കളും ഉടുത്തു Nal. ഏഴു പേരുടെ നാമങ്ങള്‍ Bhr. വധിക്കേണ്ടും പേരില്‍ ആര്‍ KR. who belongs to the വദ്ധ്യന്മാര്‍? എയ്യുന്ന പേരുകള്‍ Bhr.; എ പ്പേരീം (often written എപ്പ്യേരും) all, any persons or things എപ്യേരുമേ Nal. 3. notoriety, fame പേരും പെരിപ്പവും Bhr. etc. പേര്‍ പെററ, കൊണ്ട, ഉള്ള famous. പേ. നടക്കേണം ലോകങ്ങളില്‍ Sk. പേ. കെട്ടു പോയി No. loss of credit. പെരാക 1. to be something, have a title ഒരു ഉദ്യോഗം ചേയ്തിട്ടു പേരാകേണം (or എടു ക്കേണം). 2. to be notorious എന്നു പേരും ആകും TP. it will be said. ഏലം നുറു തുലാം
