pōḍuγa (T. to throw, strike, Te. C. pōṭu a stab, C. poḍe to strike). 1. To strike, as a wedge into timber ആണികള്‍ പോടി പ്പോടി PT. 2. to put കൈകൊച്ചായുളളവന്‍ കങ്കണം പോടുന്പോലേ PT 1.; നാന്‍ ചൊന്ന തെല്ലാം ഒത്തുവരാ എങ്കില്‍ നാവറുത്ത പോടു വന്‍ Coratti.P. pāvụ & പാ T. M. (C. hāsu, Te. pēka fr. പാകുക ). 1. pāḻ T. M. Tu. C. (Te. pālu fr. പഴുതു) 1. An empty place, void കാററിന്നു ചെല്ലുവാന്‍ പാഴ് ഏതും കൂടാതേ CG.; പാഴററ രോമാളി uninterrupted. 2. desolation, waste പാഴാക്കുക. 3. vain, പാഴിലാക്ക to render useless. പിന്നേ പ്പാഴില്‍ തോല്ക്കല്ല prov. (a curse). പാഴ്മഴത്തൂകിത്തുടങ്ങി CG. heavy rain. പാഴ്വാക്ക് useless talk, പാഴ്വെടി etc.

puḷaγam S. 1. Horripilation, caused by delight നാസികകളില്‍പു. ഏലും മയിര്‍ RC. 2. insects or vermin, (ദേഹത്തില്‍ ഒക്കേ പു' ങ്ങള്‍ പുറപ്പെടും Nid 18. in a disease caused by heat). denV. പുളകിക്ക, part. പുളകിതം.

paḷḷa (deep, see foll.) 1. Cavity, pit, hole മീന്‍ പ. also വളെക്കു ൨ പളള; a small creek or inlet, opp. കോടി f. i. തലാഴിപ്പളള Tell. പറ ന്പിന്‍റെ പളള the part of a compound which lies deepest. പളെളക്ക് ആട്ടുക Palg. to keep to the edge of a road. 2. the stomach, belly പ. യും വീര്‍ത്തു പൊട്ടി PT.; ൪ പ. കള്‍ MC; പ. യില്‍നിന്നു പോക്കു diarrhœa. പളെളക്കലെക്കു TP. (from grief). പളെളക്കാക്ക Palg. (I/?/awars) to take one's meals. പളെളടേ പണ്ടം V1. the stomach. 3. (aC. പളു, T. പഴുവം) a forest. 4. ഒരു പളളക്കായി a comb, cluster of fruits = പടല. പളളക്കാടു (3) thicket of a jungle. പളളയം T. V1. a basin, dish. പളളയാടു T. V1. (2) a small prolific kind of goats. പളളവട്ടി a large basket. പളളവില്ലി (3) a caste of mountaineers V1.

pauravar S. 1. N. pr. പൂരുവിന്‍ പരന്പരാജാതന്മാര്‍ പൌരവന്മാര്‍ Bhr. 2. = പൌരന്മാര്‍ Tdbh. 3. a caste that came by sea to Malabar, KU. (Pārsis?).

pōruγa (T. പോതുക, Te. C. to fight, fr. പൊരുക). 1. To come, go along, return ഇങ്ങോട്ടു പോരികേ വേണ്ടു, ഞാന്‍ നി ന്‍റെ കൂടേ ബംബായില്‍ പോരുന്നു TR.; ഒരു മോഹം കൊണ്ട് അങ്ങോട്ടു ചാടിയാല്‍ പല മോ ഹം കൊണ്ടിങ്ങോട്ടു പോരുമോ prov.; കൈ, കാള പോരുന്നില്ല No. is jammed in, sticks fast (cannot get the arm out of the sleeve, the shoes off the feet) etc. പോരാതേ പോയി Anj. went away no more to return. പോരേ നീ Bhr. go home, ഏല്പിച്ചു പോന്നു Mud. came away after. എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടു പോരാം (= വരാം). വഴിയോട്ടു പോരാതേ കണ്ടു നിന്നു മരിച്ചു TR. would not draw back.
