AR. the tenor, terms of the curse, അലന്‍ രക്ഷിച്ച പ്രകാരങ്ങള്‍ Bhr. the ways of governing. ശരപ്രകാരങ്ങള്‍ നി റെച്ച ശരധി KR. different kinds. കാര്യപ്ര. പോലേ വിസ്തരിക്ക TR. according to the merits. of the case. കാര്യപ്ര'ങ്ങളെ വേണ്ടും വണ്ണമാ ക്കി TR. settled the different matters. ഒരു പ്ര'ത്തില്‍ പൊറുക്ക V1. in middling circumstances. ചാര്‍ത്തിയപ്ര'ത്തില്‍ തരിക, ഇപ്രകാരേ ണ ആയാല്‍ TR., so പലപ്രകാരേണയും (doc). 2. rate ഉരുവില്‍ കോര്‍ജി അരി ഉണ്ടു ആയ്തു ൧൨ വരാഹന്‍ പ്ര. കിട്ടുന്നു jud. at the rate of. ആ നകള്‍ക്കു ഒരു പണിക്കു ൨ ഉറുപ്പിക പ്ര. കൊ ടുക്കും MR. 3. adv. like, as. ഇപ്ര., അപ്ര. thus. T. M. Te. (fr. പെയര്‍ see പേര്‍പ്പു). 1. A name, as it were the duplicate of a person or thing. ഇല്ലപ്പേര്‍, വീട്ടുപേര്‍ the family name. പേര്‍ ഇടുക to name (= വിളിക്ക, കെട്ടുക). തക്ഷ കന്‍ എന്ന പേരിട്ടു കൊണ്ടു Bhr. പൈതങ്ങള്‍ രണ്ടിന്നും പേരിട്ടുകൊള്ളേണം CG. ഗോക്കളെ പേര്‍ ചൊല്ലി നീള വിളിക്കയും CG. കണിശന്‍ ഇനിക്കു മുന്പേ പേര്‍ വിളിച്ചു prov. (why call my name so often). പേരുമാത്രവും കിട്ടാ & പേര ്‍മാത്രം ശേഷിക്കും PT. will utterly perish. എന്നു പേര്‍ പൊങ്ങും Bhg. called. 2. a person, individual നാലു പേര്‍ = നാല്വര്‍; രണ്ടു പേര ്‍കളും ഉടുത്തു Nal. ഏഴു പേരുടെ നാമങ്ങള്‍ Bhr. വധിക്കേണ്ടും പേരില്‍ ആര്‍ KR. who belongs to the വദ്ധ്യന്മാര്‍? എയ്യുന്ന പേരുകള്‍ Bhr.; എ പ്പേരീം (often written എപ്പ്യേരും) all, any persons or things എപ്യേരുമേ Nal. 3. notoriety, fame പേരും പെരിപ്പവും Bhr. etc. പേര്‍ പെററ, കൊണ്ട, ഉള്ള famous. പേ. നടക്കേണം ലോകങ്ങളില്‍ Sk. പേ. കെട്ടു പോയി No. loss of credit. പെരാക 1. to be something, have a title ഒരു ഉദ്യോഗം ചേയ്തിട്ടു പേരാകേണം (or എടു ക്കേണം). 2. to be notorious എന്നു പേരും ആകും TP. it will be said. ഏലം നുറു തുലാം

pāṇḍ/?/u S. 1. = പാണ്ഡരം, പാണ്ഡുരം, whence പാണ്ഡു. 2. N. pr. the brother of Dhritarāshṭra, Bhr. 3. a bilious dropsy or white leprosy. പാണ്ഡ്യദേശം S. = പാണ്ടി 2.; its king പാ ണ്ഡ്യന്‍; ശൌണ്ഡ്യരായ്നിന്നുളള പാണ്ഡ, മഹീ ശന്മാര്‍ CG.

poṭṭuγa (C. Te. peṭlu). 1. To burst, explode ഒരു വെടി പൊട്ടി TR. a gun fired off. പൊട്ടിനൊരൊച്ച CG. (of a tree breaking). പൊട്ടുമാറുളള നാദം (lion's roar). പളള വീര്‍ത്തു പൊട്ടി (of one drowned). പൊട്ടിപ്പൊട്ടിക്കര യുക, പൊട്ടിച്ചിരിക്ക; so of the heart മാനസം പൊട്ടിത്തുടങ്ങിക്കണ്ട നേരം KR. (fear). പൊ ട്ടിയ വാചാ തൊഴുതു Bhg. പൊട്ടുന്ന ഉളളം CG. (grief). ജനനിക്കു കണ്ണുനീര്‍ പൊട്ടി ഒഴുകി Nal. — fire crackling തീ പൊട്ടുന്നതു കേട്ടു, പാവ കന്‍ പൊട്ടി എരിഞ്ഞുപൊരിഞ്ഞു, തല പൊട്ടി ത്തെറിക്ക (of a burning corpse). ലോകം ചുട്ടു പൊട്ടും Bhr. 2. to burst, as a sore ശരീര ത്തില്‍ പൊട്ടി വീണു an eruption; to break, crack as eggs മുട്ട പൊട്ടിപ്പോകാതേ ഭരിക്ക Bhr. അടി കൊണ്ടു തല പൊട്ടി TR. പെണ്ണു കെട്ടി കണ്ണു പൊട്ടി prov. = നാശം വന്നു. 3. to put forth as buds മരം പൊട്ടി മുളെച്ചു, കൂന്പു പൊ. — പൊട്ടന്‍ bursting (see under പൊട്ടന്‍). പൊട്ടിത്തെറിച്ചവന്‍ one who has lost all self-command, a reprobate. — അഞ്ചെട്ടു പൊ'ച്ച മാപ്പിളളമാര്‍ TR. mad chaps of rebels. VN. പൊട്ടല്‍ 1. bursting മുളയുടെ പൊ. കേട്ടു (burning bamboos). 2. = പുട്ടില്‍. പൊട്ടിക്ക 1. v. a. to burst, crack, break off കുരു പൊ. a boil. മദകരി ചങ്ങല പൊ. KR. വില്ലു പൊട്ടിച്ചാന്‍ CG. മാങ്ങ പൊ. V2. to gather. വിരല്‍ പൊ. to crack the fingers. 2. intens. v. n. സാംബന്‍റെ നാഭിയും പൊ ട്ടിച്ചു വന്നതു CG. പൊട്ടിച്ചു പറക to chatter aloud.

puǹǰa (T. പുന്‍ചെയ് a sterile field, Te. C. puǹǰi). 1. Dry crop വേലി തന്നേ വിതെച്ച പുഞ്ചെക്കുവിനാശമൂലം CC. prov. [പുഞ്ചധാന്യം dry, opp. നഞ്ചധാന്യം wet cultivation, Palg. exh. Rev., T.] 2. a crop sown in Nov., reaped in Apr. B. പുഞ്ചനിലം, പു'പ്പാടം wet land, പു. കൃ ഷി. 3. a rice of early growth പു. വിള ന ടക്കുന്നു MR. planted in Kumbha, reaped in Mithuna or Karkaḍa. പുഞ്ചക്കണ്ടം field under irrigation, yielding even 3 harvests. പുഞ്ചയടക്ക an early, first nut.
