puram S. (= പൂര്‍, പുര). 1. A fort, town. 2. a house (അന്ത:പുരം). പരദ്വാരം S. city-gate KR. പുരദ്വിട്ട് S. (ദ്വിഷ്) the city destroyer, Siva. പു'ട്ടിനെ സംഭാവിച്ചു Bhg.; also പുരമഥ നന്‍, പുരഭിത്തു, പുരരിപു. പുരന്ദരന്‍ S. the fort-breaker, Indra. Bhr. പുരപ്രീതി S. popularity. അവന്‍റെ പു. ഘോ ഷിച്ചു കഴിപ്പിച്ചു Mud. a feast designed to gain popularity. പുരസ്ഥന്‍ S. an inhabitant KR. & പുരവാസി. പുരട്ടാതി T. So. = പൂരുട്ടാതി the month Sept. ഇ പ്പിരട്ടാതി മാസത്തില്‍ KR. (ഇതു ചിങ്ങമാസം).

To throw oneself at one's feet. പൊ. കൊണ്ടണിഞ്ഞു Bhr. from grief. പൊടിപൊടിയായ്പോക to be reduced to atoms. പൊടിയാക്ക Bhr. to destroy. പൊ ടിയും അറിയാതേ not a bit. പൊടിയില്‍ വാ ളുക No. = പെയ്യാതേ. 2. powder, esp. med. പൊ. കൊണ്ടേ പോക്കു മലമൂത്രാദികള്‍, പൊടി യാലേ കുളികുറിയും Bhr. അഞ്ചു പൊടി = പ ഞ്ച ചൂര്‍ണ്ണം; മേല്‍ പൊടി vehicle as പഞ്ചതാര മേല്പൊടിയിട്ടു MM. 3. snuff പൊ. വലിക്ക, = മൂക്കു പൊടി. 4. metallic cement, solder. പൊടിക്കണ്ണന്‍ blind പൊ. ഒരു തുണയും കൂ ടാതേ കൊടുങ്കാട്ടില്‍ കിടന്നുഴലും mud. (= പൊട്ടക്കണ്ണന്‍). പൊടിക്കിഴങ്ങു No. = പിടിക്കിഴങ്ങു Cal. Palg., ചെറുകിഴങ്ങു No. & So. പൊടിക്കൈ administering small medicines, doing any little business; an artifice B. പൊടിത്തൂവല്‍ a kind of curry-powder. പൊടിപെടുക to be reduced to powder ഉടല്‍ പൊ'ടും അടല്‍ RC. — act. അവരെ പൊ' ടുത്തു കളക Bhr. പൊടിമഴ minute rain. പൊടിമാനം 1. like powder. പൊ'മാക്കിക്കള ഞ്ഞു thrashed, pounded him. 2.
