bharlsanam S. (bharts). Blaming; abuse, menace ഭ. ഒട്ടും ഇല്ല Bhr. ഭ. ചെയ്യും വരനെ Sah. denV. ഭര്‍ത്സിക്ക to rail, abuse (part. pass. ഭ ര്‍ത്സിതം S.); also വളരേ പരപ്പില്‍ പറ ഞ്ഞാന്‍ വാനരന്മാരെ ഭര്‍ത്സിപ്പിച്ചിങ്ങനേ KR. (without caus. meaning).

bhallam S. (= L. phallus?). 1. A kind of arrow (മഴുവന്പു). ഭ'ങ്ങള്‍ ഏഴും പ്രയോഗിച്ചു KR. 2. a bear = കരടി, also ഭല്ലുകം KR 3.

bhrāδāvụ S. & ഭ്രാതൃ (ഭൃ). Brother. ഭ്രാത്രീയം S. fraternal.

bhuvi S. 1. Loc. of ഭൂ. On earth, Bhg. 2. T. C. M. the earth അടല്‍പ്പുവിതന്നില്‍, അന്പരവും പുവിയും നടുങ്ങും RC. ഭുവിയില്‍ ഇറ ങ്ങിനാന്‍ PatR. ഭൂ S. (to be ഭവിക്ക) the earth, ഭൂവാദി അഞ്ചും Anj. the elements. ഭൂവിങ്കല്‍ Bhr. ഭുകന്പം S. an earthquake ഭുമികുലുക്കം. ഭുഗോളം, — ചക്രം, — മണ്ഡലം S. the terrestrial globe. ഭൂതലം AR., — ലോകം S. the earth. ഭൂദാനം S. grant of land; burying. ഭൂദേവന്, — സുരന്‍ S. a Brahman; f. ‍ഭൂദേവി Tellus. ഭൂധരം S. a mountain. ഭൂപതി, — പന്‍, — പാലന്‍ S. a king, so ഭൂഭൃ ത്തുകള്‍ Mud. ഭൂഭാരം S. 1. the burden earth has to bear പാതിയും പോയിതു ഭൂ. ഇന്നു AR. thro' the death of an enemy. 2. B. kingly government. ഭൂവാസികള്‍ V1. inhabitants of the earth, men; = അന്പലവാസി (loc).

bhrašṭaǹ S. (part. pass. of ഭ്രംശ്). Fallen, degraded സ്ഥാന-, ജാതി-, ജന്മഭ്ര-.V1. outcast. രാജ്യഭ്ര'നായി deprived of crown or home. ഭ്ര'നല്ലാത്തവനെ പുറത്താക്കിയും ഭ്ര'നെ കൂട്ടത്തിലാക്കി രക്ഷിക്കയും Sah. ഭ്രഷ്ടം (part. pass.) 1. fallen. 2. degradation, loss of privilege പ്രജകളെ ഹിംസിച്ചു ധര്‍മ്മ ഭ്ര. ചെയ്വാന്‍ TR. to destroy their religion — vu. ഭ്രഷ്ടു f. i. അതിനാല്‍ ഭ്രഷ്ടിച്ചു Anach. no loss of caste. അന്പലങ്ങളെ ഭ്രഷ്ടു ചെയ്തു TR. defiled. ഭ്രഷ്ടത excommunication, degradation.

bhāraδam S. (ഭരത). Referring to Bh. or the Bharatas. 1. = ഭാരതഖണ്ഡം, — വര്‍ഷം India. Bhg 5. Brhmd. 2. = മഹാഭാരതം the great epos of the Bharatas ഭാരതയുദ്ധം Bhg. ഭാ. വായിപ്പിക്ക kings to have that poem publicly read & explained (a costly performance). ഭാരതി S. 1. a goddess, sometimes identified with Saraswati. 2. literary composition; word, speech പാഹി എന്നുള്ളൊരു ഭാ. CG. നാരിതന്‍ ഭാ. കേട്ടു Sk.

bhūrǰam & bhūrǰapatram S. A birch-tree, the bark of which was used for writing, & for winding round the Hooka-snake (vu. ഭുജപത്രം).

bhāvana S. (caus. of ഭു). 1. Effecting; power of representing to oneself, imagination. ഭാ. തന്നാലേ പുല്കി CG. not bodily, ഭാ. യാലേ വന്ദിച്ചു Bhr. inwardly. In Vēdānta ബ്രഹ്മഭാ. is the realization of the All One, അസംഭാ. its first enemy, the fancy of the difference of things, സംശയഭാ. want of implicit reliance on the Guru, വിപരീതഭാ. the thought of body, I, world, as if they were realities, etc. KeiN. ഭാ. കൊണ്ടു തന്നേ സര്‍വ്വവും ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു Bhg. 2. reflection, meditation മാമുനിമാര്‍ മൌലി യില്‍ ചേര്‍ക്കുന്നു ഭാ. യാലേ ഈ പാദപരാഗം, കേവലയായൊരു ഭാ. തന്നിലേ മേവി നിന്നു CG. confined himself to one meditation. ഭാവി S. (ഭൂ) 1. future; fut. tense (gram.).— ഭാ. വാക്യം.prediction. 2. (ഭാവം) holding & expressing a sentiment പ്രിയഭാവിയായി രിക്ക VCh. — ഭാവിനി S. a fine woman. denV. ഭാവിക്ക 1. to represent, exhibit, show കേട്ടില്ല എന്നു ഭാവിച്ചു Bhr.; കേട്ടതു ഭാവി യാതേ PT.; ശോകരോഷാദികളെ ഭാവിച്ചു Mud. (felt or feigned). കെട്ടി ഞാന്നു ചാവ തിന്നായി ഭാ. Mud. act as if you hanged yourself!; so neg. കാണാതേ ഭാ. to feign to believe yourself unseen. — കലശല്ക്കു ഭാ. MR. to show fight. രാജാവു ചിരിക്കുന്നതു പോ ലേ ഭാവിച്ചു കൊല്ലും though he appear to smile. 2. to assume (=അഹംഭാവം?). അ ന്യോന്യവാഞ്ഛിതം കൊണ്ടു ഭാ'ച്ചു ഘോഷി ച്ചു Nal. claimed each the preference for his choice. 3. to intend നാളെ സ്വയംവരം ഭാവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു Nal. സേവയും ഭാവിച്ചു Bhr. (a dog seeking a master). Chiefly Dat. ഊണിന്നു ഭാവിച്ചു KR. (=ഉണ്മാന്‍). ഭക്ഷണ ത്തിന്നു ഭാവിക്കുന്പോള്‍ TR. പടെക്കു Bhr. സന്ധിക്കു ഭാവിക്കില്‍ ChVr. resolve & prepare for. ഭാ. വേണ്ട അതിന്നിനി Sah. don't hope for it. ഭാവിതം part. pass, of prec. (also: got, mixed). ഇതിപ്പോള്‍ വന്നതും എനിക്കു ഭാ. KR. hoped for. CV. ഭാവിപ്പിക്ക f. i. അവര്‍ക്കു സങ്കടം മനതാ രില്‍ ഭാവിപ്പിച്ചീടും Nal. I should grieve them (al. സംഭവിപ്പി —). ഭാവുകം S. happy= ശുഭം, സുഖം.

bhāram S. (ഭര്‍). 1. Burden, load ഭാരേണ സന്തപ്തഭൂമിദേവി AR.; met. oppression എ ന്‍റെ ഭാ. നീക്കി വെച്ചു രക്ഷിക്ക, ഭാ. തീര്‍ക്ക TR. to relieve. ഭാരപ്പെട്ടു പോക to be hampered, molested. 2. onus, charge രാജ്യഭാ. ചെയ്ക = ഭരിക്ക. 3. a weight of 20 തുലാം, = Kaṇḍi ൬ ഭാ. വെടിമരുനനു TR. (see പാരം). ഭാരക്കട്ടി a weight (കട്ടി 3, 195). ഭാരക്കല്ലു a stone on a watering machine. ഭാരത്തുലാം a main beam across rooms. ഭാരയഷ്ടി S. = കാവടി. ഭാരവാഹന്‍ S. a porter.
