bhāṇu S.( ഭാ).The sun ഭാനുമയങ്ങുന്നു Bhr.; also ഭാനുമാര്‍ (shining). ഭാനുവിക്രമന്‍ N. pr. the first Sāmanta ruler in Trav. KM.; title of the 4th in Calicut etc. ഭാമിനി S. (ഭാമം S. light, rage). Radient, passionate f. (a wife).

bhrūṇam S. (ഭൃ). The foetus, embryo ഭ്രൂണഹരനുടെ പാപം KR. (also ഭ്രൂണഹാ). — ഭ്രൂണഹത്യയും ചെയ്ക Bhg. to produce abortion.

bhāri (ഭാരം). Heavy, serious; tall. ഭാരികം S. = ഘനത്തിരിക്ക Asht. f. i. the heart, a limb in sickness. ഭാര്‍ഗ്ഗവന്‍ S. derived from ഭൃഗു, 1. as Parašurāma (ഭാര്‍ഗ്ഗവരാമന്‍ AR.) — ഭാര്‍ഗ്ഗവപുരാണം = പരശുരാമായണം KM. 2. a name of ശൂ ക്രന്‍, regent of Venus ഭാ. മീനത്തിലും — നി ല്ക്കുന്പോള്‍ AR.

bhaḷḷu (V1. പളു prh. fr. പഴു, പാഴ് or വളുതം, വള്ളു). 1. Ostentation, show ഭള്ളിനായി ഭസ്മം തേച്ച Si Pu. ഭള്ളുള്ള നിന്‍റെ ഭാവം അറി യാതേ KR. (says Bāli to Rāma). ഭ. പറഞ്ഞു Bhr. boasted. ഭള്ളുകള്‍ അവരോടു കൂടുകയില്ല CrArj. menaces. 2. exaggeration, lie ഭള്ളും പൊള്ളും. ഭള്ളല്ല VilvP. quite true! ഭ. കാട്ടുക, ഭാവിക്ക B. to counterfeit, trick. ഭള്ളന്‍ vainglorious മഹാഭ.

bhāṇ/?/am S. (see പണ്ടം). l. A vessel, pot. 2. a bundle, load, package ആരും സ മ്മതിയാതുള്ള ഭാ'ങ്ങള്‍ TR. burthens. ഇവ എല്ലാം ഭാ'മായി കെട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു Mud. വസ്ത്രഭാ. പേറി PT. (an ass). ഭാണ്ഡത്തപ്പാല്‍ parcel post (Banghy). ക്ഷുരഭാ. ഇങ്ങു തരിക PT. barber's bag. ഭാ. കെട്ടിയിടുക to load cattle (= മാറാപ്പു). ഭാണ്ഡാഗാരം S. = ഭണ്ഡാരം q.v. ഭാതൃ = ബഹാദര്‍ 748., as കുന്പഞ്ഞിഭാതൃക്കു TR. ഭാദര്‍ id. f. i. ഭാ. മുട്ടാളന്‍ a great clod-poll. ഭാദ്രപദം S. (ഭദ്രപദ). A month = കന്നി.

bhrahmšam S. Falling, as from a dignity സ്വസ്ഥാനഭ്ര. വന്നുപോം Bhg. = പാതിത്യം. denV. ഭ്രംശിക്ക, part. pass. ഭ്രഷ്ടം.

bhāryam S. (ഭര). To be supported. ഭാര്യ S. the wife ഭാ. യായി പിന്നാലേ SiPu. followed the other as a wife. ഭാര്യാപതികള്‍ husband & wife. — ഭാര്യാവാന്‍ = ഭാര്യയുള്ളവന്‍.

bhaṭṭaǹ S. (= ഭര്‍ത്താ). Lord, title of learned Brahmans, (Tdbh. പട്ടര്‍). ഭട്ടതിരി, vu. പട്ടേരി the highest class of Kēraḷa Brahmans; also called ഭട്ടാചാര്യര്‍ teachers of philosophy, who restored Brahmanism after the Bauddha rule KU. — ഭട്ടാ ചാര്യന്‍gen. = Kumārilabhaṭṭa.

bhūrǰam & bhūrǰapatram S. A birch-tree, the bark of which was used for writing, & for winding round the Hooka-snake (vu. ഭുജപത്രം).

bhramam S. (S. bhram, L. fremo). 1. Whirling, flying about & humming of insects. — In med. = ചുഴല്ച Asht.; കാലചക്രഭ്ര. പാര്‍ത്തുക ണ്ടാല്‍ Bhr. 2. straying, error ഭ്ര. വരുമാറു KR. so as to mislead the pursuer. 3. perturbation, confusion of mind അസാരം ഭ്രമമായി രിക്കുന്നു TR. somewhat deranged (= ബുദ്ധിഭ്ര.). മാനസേ ബാഹ്യാന്തരഭ്രമഹീനനായി Brhmd. (thro' Yōgam). ഭ്ര. കൂടാത്ത fearless. 4. surprise, stupor. ഭ്രമ (S. ഭ്രമി) whirling പെരിയ കാലചക്രഭ്രമ യില്‍ ഉഴന്നീടും, ജനിമൃതിഭ്രമയും ഒഴിയും KeiN. (read ഭ്രമി). ഭ്രമണം S. whirling Vl. ഭ്രമരം S. a bee. denV. ഭ്രമിക്ക 1. to stray, wander about അ ങ്ങുമിങ്ങും ഭ്രമിച്ചു PT.; മഹീചക്രം ഒക്കഭ്രമി ച്ചവര്‍ Nal.; to revolve as a wheel. 2. to be stupified ഭ്രമിക്കയും അരഞ്ഞാണം പറിക്ക യും MM. (symptoms of delirium). അതിന്നാ രും ഭ്രമിയായ്ക Bhg. let none despair. 3. to be amazed. ആദിത്യന്‍ എന്നു ഭ്രമിച്ചാര്‍ CC. wondered at it as if it was the sun. 4. to be biassed, charmed അവന്‍റെ പ്രബലത കൊണ്ടു താലൂക്കകാര്‍ ഭ്രമിച്ചു MR. 5. v. a. to fall in love with മാണികളും മടവാരെ ഭ്രമിച്ചീടും; കര്‍ത്തും ഭ്രമിക്കുമവന്‍ മഹാകര്‍മ്മ ങ്ങള്‍ Sah. desire. അവളെ കണ്ടു ഭ്രമിച്ചു.
