māṭṭam C Tu. M. (മാടുക). 1. muruppu (മുരു, മുരം). Uneven touch; moss, the inner side of skin or leather. മുരിപ്പു ചീന്പുക V2. to pare leather. മുഖക്കുരു മു. V2. marked with pox. മുരുവന്‍ — No., മുരോന്‍ — Er̀., മുരന്പന്‍ അടക്ക Palg. a betel-nut in its 5th stage of growth (അരിയടക്ക So.). മുരുളുക (loc.) = മുരളുക: വണ്ടു മുരുണ്ടു SiPu. വണ്ടത്താന്മാര്‍ മുരുളും KR.; നായ് മു No. vu. to snarl.

mūčči 1. = മൂത്തി An old woman. 2. an old mango-tree Cal.; Palg. Weṭṭ. a mango-tree in gen. മൂച്ചു = മുച്ചി the face.

mēḍuγa No. (= മിടി, വേടുക). To knock, as with finger. മേടി നോക്കിയാല്‍ അറിയാം prov. to try whether hollow or full. ആണി കള്‍ മേടിമേടി (al. പോടി) PT. to drive in, strike V1. മേടി a piece of wood for striking gongs, a clapper (see മേട 4.), a tongue of iron = വാളം.

mačču T. M. C. (Te. C. attachment, intimacy). 1. A boarded ceiling; apartment secured with stones to keep valuables V1. മ. പടുക്ക, ഇടുക, വെക്ക to ceil, board. 2. an upper story, മച്ചുന്പുറം B. space above the ceiling. 3. B. a rough kind of creeping plant.

muḷam No. C. Tu. = മുഴം. A cubit ഉത്തരീ യം മു. വെച്ചുതുടങ്ങി, രണ്ടര മു. ഉള്ള മുണ്ടു Nal.

mu/?/a (T. C. മുള cone of a boil). 1. Protuberance. ആനയുടെ മു. two projections on the elephant's forehead. കുന്നും മലയും കുഴിയും മുഴ കളും ഒന്നു പോലേ നിരത്തി Bhg. elevation; unevenness. 2. tumour, excrescence ഞെളിഞ്ഞ മാറത്തു വളര്‍ന്ന വന്മുഴ KR. rupture, chancre. തൊണ്ടയിലേ മു. goitre V2. ചന്ദനം മുഴയില്‍ തേപ്പിച്ചു KR. മുഴ മേല്‍ തടകുക എന്നാല്‍ മു. ചാ ഞ്ഞുപോം MM. മു. പെളിയും a. med 3. rough, knotty, the teeth of a saw etc. V1. മുഴന്തു B. a knot, protuberance on a tree. മുഴമരം a turner's lathe, a piece in a loom etc.V1. മുഴയന്‍ having a tumour or lump. മുഴവടിയും (=കോടി) കഴുവടിയും (കുഴിയ —) hip-rafters & valleys, Palg. മുഴെന knotty (wood), headstrong (man), Vl. മുഴെക്ക to swell as tumour, rise in a wen വെ ളുന്നനേ മുഴെച്ചീടും Nid. (in the eye). — met. കിള മുഴച്ചേടം വാര്‍ന്നു കളക No. to cut off the bulging part of a mud-wall.

mēru S. (മീ, മേല്‍). The fabulous mountain of the North മേരുവും കടുകുമുള്ള അന്തരം ഉണ്ടു നമ്മില്‍ Bhr. വന്മേ. ക്കുന്നു താന്‍ എന്ന പോലേ CG. അഴകെഴും മേരൂര്‍ക്കുന്നു RC. മ ഹാമേതു സമാനധീരര്‍ TR.
