vaṭṭi 1. (വട്ടം, T. വട്ടിക). A round basket of (വട്ടിപ്പൂല്‍ grass), straw, leather or palm-leaves, പള്ളവ. large, of bamboo, കറുവ, small. 2. No. the belly, considered as rice-holder (നാ ണം 2, 541); വട്ടിയും തൂക്കി PT. the ox grew fat. 3. Tdbh. of വൃദ്ധി interest on money ഏറ വ. = ഉരുള്‍പലിശ KU. 4. rupture വട്ടിമേല്‍ വട്ടി ഉണ്ടു vu. (= paunch upon paunch). വട്ടിക്കാര്‍ D. lower Nāyars at Cochin. വട്ടിയന്‍, വട്ടിച്ചി pot-bellied, N. pr. m & f. വട്ടിവയറു So. a pot-belly. വട്ടിളം = വട്ടളം.

vašaḷam (V1. വഴലന്‍ q. v.). Bad, foul, spoiled. വ'ന്‍ wicked. എന്നെ വഷളായി പറ ഞ്ഞു, വളരേ വഷളത്വമായി പറഞ്ഞു abused. — വഷളാക്ക to corrupt, deprave.

vir̀akka T. M. (C. Te. Tu. astonishment, വിറു). To become stiff as from cold ച ത്തു വിറന്നു പോയി vu.; വിറന്ന inflexible. വിറക്കം V1. repugnance. വിറങ്ങലിക്ക So. to be benumbed, grow stiff (No. വൃക്കലിക്ക). വിറയുക B. To be covetous, see വിരയുക. വിറുമ, see വെറുമ Port. An auger.
