kaṭṭa T. M. (C. Te. ഗഡ്ഡ fr. ഗഡു stout, thick). 1. Lump, mass, ചോരക്കട്ട coagulated blood. കട്ടവെക്ക, പിടിക്ക to concrete as തയിര്‍ etc. തീക്കട്ടകഴുകിയാല്‍ കരിക്കട്ട prov. 2. = മ ണ്‍കട്ട clod, sod. ഉരുട്ടുക ക., പെട്ടിക്ക. (for building). 3. clog, കട്ടച്ചെരിപ്പു Palg. = മെതിയടി. Hence: കട്ടക്കാര a thorny plant. കട്ടക്കാണം 1. the right of breaking the ground = തൂശിക്കാണം, കൊഴു അവകാശം. 2. a tenure of ricefields unfavorable to the cultivator, hence called കഷ്ടക്കാണം. കട്ടക്കിടാവു newborn infant തന്‍ ക. മായി തുഷ്ട യായ്നിന്നാള്‍ CG. അരയന്നക്ക. പോലെ RS. (see ചോരക്കുഞ്ഞു). കട്ടക്കോല്‍ instrument for breaking the clods after sowing, consisting of the handle, വ ടി, and the block, കട്ടക്കുട്ടി, കട്ടോടം. കട്ടങ്ങം So. tie on the neck of oxen. കട്ടപ്പാര a wooden spade. കട്ടറ (കട്ടുകറ) rust, ക. പിടിക്ക to rust.

karayuγa (T. C. to call, Tu. to lament) 1. (C. കത്തു) Neck of men, animals (ആനക്കഴുത്തില്‍ വരുന്നു AR.), plants (see കള്ളി), vessels etc. — fig. കഴുത്തിലാമാറ കപ്പെട്ടു Bhg. in extreme peril. കഴുത്താരം or — ത്തേരം occiput V1. also collar, necklace V2. കഴുത്തില neck-ornament; explained by forms like കുഞ്ഞു കുട്ടികളുടെ കാതിലേ കഴുത്തിലേ തു പറിച്ചു വിറ്റു TR. കഴുത്തെടുപ്പ് 1. a long neck. 2. determination; proud bearing. കഴുന്നു (T. extremity of pestle) in വില്ക്കഴു ന്നു Bhg. notched extremity of a bow = ധനു ഷ്കൊടി V2.

kuńǰuγa So. (T. Te. C. കുംഗു) To stoop, bow. (see കുനി, കുറു etc.) കുഞ്ചു T. & കുഞ്ഞു M. (C. കൂസു) young, small കുഞ്ചുകൂട്ടം bodyguard in Trav. ഒട്ടേറ കുഞ്ചൂ ട്ടക്കാരെ ചേര്‍ത്തു Arb. soldiers. ചെറിയ കു ഞ്ചൂട്ടക്കാര്‍ Trav. policemen.

kuńńụ (= കുഞ്ചു; C. Te. ഗുന്ന short, young) pl. കുഞ്ഞങ്ങള്‍ A young, infant ആണ്കു ഞ്ഞും പെണ്കുഞ്ഞും Arb. kuṭṭi (see കുട്ട, കുട്ടന്‍) = കുഞ്ഞു 1. The young of any animal; child, chiefly girl; a Paṭṭar boy. (in comp. nāmam S. (√ ജ്ഞാ or മ്നാ) 1. A name നാ. ധരിക്ക, ഇടുക. — ദശരഥനാമ്നാ AR. (Instr.) — Esp. a name descriptive of attributes, as തിരുനാ. the names of Višṇu (generally 27, but also സഹസ്രനാ.), repeated as morning prayer. തിരുനാമങ്ങള്‍ ഇല്ലാതേ പോകയോ GnP. തിരു നാമമാഹാത്മ്യം the efficacy of such repetitions. നാ'മങ്ങള്‍ ഓതുക, ജപിക്ക Bhg. 2. a sectarian mark of Vaišṇavas ഗോപിനാമക്കുറി. 3. the noun (gram.).
