kolḷuttụ T. M. (കൊള്‍) 1. What holds; hook, link, stitch, latch കൊക്കയും കൊ (also a tie എണ്ണഭരണി കൊളുത്തഴിച്ചു TP.) കൊ ളുത്താണി V2. tenter-hook. കൊളുത്തു പറക to speak so, as to embroil the matter V1. 2. smallest branches of a tree etc. = ഇല്ലി. കൊളുത്തുക T. M. Tc. gandham S. 1. Smell, odour. മൂക്കടെച്ചു ഗ. അറിയരുതാതേ ഇരിക്ക a med. അവിടെ മുറിഞ്ഞാല്‍ കെ. അറിയരുതു MM. 2. smelling substance അഷ്ടഗന്ധങ്ങളെകൊണ്ടു ധൂപിക്ക Nal. ഗ. കൊളുത്തുക to season food.—In VCh. the scents are 9: ദുര്‍ഗ്ഗന്ധം, സുരഭി, കടു, മധുരം, സ്നിഗ്ധം, സംഹതം, രൂക്ഷം, നിര്‍ഹാരി, വിശദം. ഗന്ധകം brimstone GP. ഗന്ധതൈലം scented oil, ഗ'ങ്ങള്‍ വീഴ്ത്തി KR. on torches. ഗന്ധവഹന്‍, ഗന്ധവാഹന്‍ wind. denV. ഗന്ധിക്ക v. a. & n. to smell ഗന്ധിച്ചു ഗന്ധിച്ചു വന്നു കടിപ്പതിന്നു Bhr. അതു ഗ ന്ധിച്ചതില്ല തൊട്ടില്ല Bhr. I did not smell it. ഗന്ധോപജീവി KR. പരിമളവസ്തുവുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന ഗ'കള്‍ etc.

čīpụ T. M. (see ചീക II, ചീര്‍പ്പു) 1. A comb ചീ. കൊണ്ട ഈരിക്ക V2., ചീപ്പിടുക (in V1. also ചീപ്പുക) to comb. 2. a cluster or comb of a plantain bunch; മുന്‍ ചീ. the best, കടച്ചീ. (പടലം, പള്ള). 3. a bolt pushed from below (= തഴുതു) വാതിലടെച്ച് ആപ്പും ചീപ്പും ഇട്ടു TP. ആപ്പും ചീപ്പും കൊക്കയും കൊളുത്തും ഇടുക vu. ചീപ്പാണി (3) No. a linch-pin. ചീപ്പോടു = ചിപ്പോടു.

tāḷāyma (C. Te. Tu. താളു to bear) Humble, subdued manner (loc). താളിക്ക T. M. C. Te. Tu. to season food = ഗന്ധം കൊളുത്തുക (= to make supportable or = താളത്തില്‍ ആക്കി) see കൈത്താളം p. 299. താളിതം V1. stewing.

tī T. M. aC. (Tu. തു) 1. Fire; തീയില്‍പ്പാ യുക, as a Sati. തീയില്‍ മുളെച്ചതു വെയിലത്തു ചാകാ prov. തീയും തിരിയും ഇല്ല so poor! ആ രാന്‍റെ തീയും വെയിലും കൊണ്ടിട്ടു ദിവസം ക ഴിക്ക to work for any one. തീ എരിയു ക, കത്തുക, പിടിക്ക, കൊളുത്തുക, കൂട്ടുക, പൊലിയുക, കെടുക്ക etc. പാകത്തിന്നായിട്ടു തീക്കല്‍വെച്ചൊ രു പാല്‍ CG. put on the fire. ഇല്ലത്തിലിട്ടടെ ച്ചു തീ വെച്ചു Bhr. 2. So. Plumbago Ceylanica. Hence: തീക്കണം SiPu. a spark. തീക്കണ്ണന്‍ Bhg. Siva. തീക്കട്ട prov. & തീക്കനല്‍ a live-coal, തീക്കനല്‍പ്പു ഴകളില്‍ നീന്തേണം SiPu.
