amšaγam S.(അംശം) The fourth part of a day. ഒരു രാശി = 2¼ നാള് = ന്‍ അം ശകം TP. Hence a denom. V. അംശകിക്ക f. i. ഗ്രഹം ഒന്പതു രാശിയിലും അംശകിക്കും TP.

akšauhiṇi S. (അക്ഷ + ഊഹിനി.) A complete army consisting of 21870 elephants, as many chariots, 65610 horses, 109350 infantry. (In the Bhārata war the Pāndavas have 7, their foes 11 akšauhiṇis. One elephant, 1 chariot, 3 horses and 5 footmen form a സേനാമുഖം; this tripled ഗുന്മം, tripled ഗുണം, tripled വാഹിനി, പുതന, ചമു കം, അനീകിനി, തദ്ദശ ഗുണിതയാകന്നതും അ ക്ഷൗഹിണി. Bhr.)
