āyāsam S. (യസ) 1. Exertion. ആ യാസം ഒന്നും തുടങ്ങാതിരിപ്പിന്‍ CG. CC. overwork. 2. fatigue, trouble. ഗമനായാസശ മം വരുത്തി CC. refreshed themselves. ആ യാസം പോക്കി CG. (= ആലസൃം) — ആ. ആ യൊരു തീയിലേ പായിച്ചു പെയായി പോകുമാ റാക്കൊലാതേ CG. don't drive her into despair & madness. 3. ār̀u T. M. C. Te. (Tu. ആജി) VN. of അ റുക 1. Way = വഴി. ആറുവായ്, ആററുവാ V1. the cry by which the road is cleared before a nobleman. iḍaṇṇụ C. T. Strait (= ഇട). ഇടങ്ങാറ് (ഇടങ്ങ്) & ഇടങ്ങേറ് q. v. — difficulty, contrariety, oppression, want. ചെറിയ കാ ര്യത്തിന്ന് ഇങ്ങനെ ഇടങ്ങാറ് ആക്കിയാല്‍ TR. raise such difficulties about it. ഇടങ്ങാഴി, ഇടങ്ങനാഴി, ഇടങ്ങഴി (ഇടങ്ങ്, നാഴി) a measure, 2¼ വിരല്‍ deep, 5½ broad, holding 4 Nā/?/i, or 57,600 grains of കഴമനെല്ല് (its mark ൩). The smaller kind ചെലവിടങ്ങഴി is used in houses, the പാട്ടിടങ്ങഴി, larger by 10 or 20 pct. serves to pay the പാട്ടം. വലിയ ഇടങ്ങാഴിക്കു നൂറു നെല്ല് TR. ൧000 ഇടങ്ങാഴി നെല്ലിന്ന് ൪0 ഉറുപ്പിക വില കണ്ടു TR. iruδi (ഇരിക്ക) In the phrase നമുക്കുനാ ട്ടില്‍ ഇരിതി പൊറുതിയാക്കി തരിക TR. allow me to reside unmolested. ഇരുത്തം Sitting, staying. ഇരുത്തമായി he is settled there, also ഇരുത്ത്. ഇരുത്തി 1. a seat, bench. 2. = ഇരിക്കുന്നവള്‍ a maid ഇരുത്തിയെ വെച്ചതു പോലെ (prov.) 3. = ഋദ്ധി (med.) ഇരുത്തുക CV. (of ഇരിക്ക) 1. To seat, place, detain, settle. ഞങ്ങളെ രാജൃത്തു തന്നെ ഇരുത്തി രക്ഷിപ്പാന്‍ TR. (= ഇരിപ്പാറാക്കി) induce us to remain. രാജാവെ ഇരുത്തുവാന്‍ KR. ധനം വ രുത്തിയാലും ഇരുത്തുവാന്‍ പണി KR. difficult to keep riches acquired. ആനയിരുത്തി KU. presented, gave. 2. v. n. to sink or settle as a load (loc.) — to walk (hon. loc.) ഇരുത്തിക്ക 2nd CV. to cause to seat, present ആ ന തന്നെ ഇരുത്തിച്ചു കൊള്ളാം SG. kuraṭṭna = ചവിട്ടി താറുമാറാക്ക — കോരന്‍റെ കുപ്പ കുരട്ടുകയും TP. Did mischief. കുരട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു No. = കുഴക്കിവെച്ചു put in disorder. മൂരിപുല്ലു കു. trodden under feet & spoiled.

koṇǰaǹ Prawn, lobster, കൊ. തുള്ളി യാല്‍ മുട്ടോളം prov. Kinds: കിത്താക്കോഞ്ചന്‍ (see കിത്തുക) or ചിററാക്കൊ., പൂക്കൊ. black, yellow & red spotted, വെള്ളക്കൊ. white crawfish. പൊയ്ക കൊഞ്ചന്‍ a fine blue crawfish. (see കൊഞ്ചു).

T. M. (Tu. C. കെസരു, Te. ക്രച്ചു) 1. Mire, dirt. ചേററില്‍ അടിച്ചാല്‍, ചേറുകണ്ടേ‍ So ചവിട്ടിയാല്‍ prov. 2. wet soil. കണ്ടം ഉ ഴുതു ചേറാക്ക to work the surface of a field into a slush preparatory to transplanting rice. ചേററില്‍ കുത്തിയ കൈ ചോററില്‍ കുത്താം (of field-labour). — ചേറാലേ കോരിക്കുടിപ്പിക്കും എ ന്നെ Anj. with unwashed hands. ചേ. പിരളു ക feet to become dirty. ചേറും മുടയും prov. ചേറും പൊടിയും തുടെച്ചു Bhg. കഴിഞ്ഞു പോ യ ചേറിനെ അധികം പറഞ്ഞു കലക്കുവാന്‍ to stir up old quarrels. 3. = ചേര്‍ 3.
