tuǹbụ (തുനി C Te., തുന്പു C. footstalk, തുബബു to be found out) 1. An extremity, end of a rope or string കൊന്പിന്‍റെ,ചെവിയുടെ തുന്പു MC. തു. കൊടുക്ക to give a handle, തു. പിടിക്ക to get into a discussion. 2. clue, trace. ഉണ്ടാമതിനുള്ള തു. CC. get a clue. ഇതി ന്‍റെ തു. അറിവാന്‍ TR. to ferret it out. qs. തു. അറിയാതേ പറഞ്ഞു spoke not to the purpose, got adrift. വീടു ചുട്ട ആള്‍ വഴിപോലേ തുന്പാ യിട്ടില്ല TR. could not be found out. ഇല്ലാത്ത തു. കള്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കി by false evidences. അതി ന്‍റെ നേരും വഴിയും തുന്പും വിസ്മരിക്കാതേ TR.; കട്ട മുതല്‍ അവന്‍റെ കൈവശമുള്ളപ്രകാരം തു ന്പു കിട്ടി Arb. articles were traced to him. അ തിന്‍റെ ആളെ തുന്പുനോക്കി TR. tried to find out the guilty person. തുന്പുണ്ടാക്കി proved. 3. right, claim, duty. വകമേല്‍ ചെല്ലുവാന്‍ തു ന്പില്ല TR. has no right to the estate. അന്‍പ ററാല്‍ തുന്‍പററു prov.; അവനോടു തു. അറുത്ത് എടുത്ത (or വാങ്ങിയ) പ്രമാണം TR. (see തുന്പു മുറി). തുന്പുകെട്ടു നടന്നു led an unprincipled life. Hence: തുന്പറുക്ക to break off a connexion. തുന്പില്ലാതേ പറക to speak, what is groundless, useless, driftless; to babble. തുന്പില്ലാത്തവന്‍ (2) an ignorant; a booby. തുന്പുമുറി (3) a certificate given by a proprietor to the holder of his land, that he has sold his right to another; also a writ of the tenant transferring his occupancy to another, W. രാമനു സമ്മതിച്ചു കൊടുത്തതു. tuvaruγa 1. To grow dry, മഴതു.; V1. തുവര്‍ച്ച, (contr. No. തോര്‍ച്ച & often confounded with ചോര്‍ച്ച) fair weather. 2. (T. തുവന്‍റു = രൂരുക) to be filled up, as wells, etc. see തു കരുക. തുവര്‍ക്കുക T. M. = ചവര്‍ക്ക, (see തുവര്‍). തുവര്‍ത്തുക, (T. തുവട്ടുക, Te. ദുവ്വു) 1. to make dry, to wipe clean, കുളിച്ചു കയറി ഓന്‍ തോ ര്‍ത്തുന്നു TP. 2. So. to remove superfluous water out of a ricefield, (after sowing). തുവര്‍മ്മ V2. = തൂര്‍മ്മ. density.

A black beetle, flying at night. പൊന്നാന്തു. a cushlady. ആനത്തുന്പി loc. a large kind of dragon-fly. തു. പറക്കുംപ്രകാരം Bhr.; (a butter-fly MC.); തു. തുളെച്ച മുള a bamboo pierced by it & sounding like an Ӕolian harp, (തു. ത്തുള). Hence: തുന്പിക്കൈ T. M. C. (po. തുന്പിക്കരം ത ന്നേ തലോടി CG.) an elephant's trunk, lit. 'the sneezing hand'. തു. യോടുളവായ പൈതല്‍ Anj. Gaṇapati. തു. ചുരുട്ടും MC. (in running). തുന്പിത്താന്‍ V1. 2. & തുന്പിത്താരം B. a long trumpet, (see താര) = ൦രംററക്കുഴല്‍. തുന്പിപ്പച്ച a kind of Centaurium, which produces sneezing.

tōkkuγa No. (T. തോയ്ക്ക to dip in, bring together; contr. of തുകക്ക, തുവെക്ക; C. ദൊഗെയു to dig out, burrow). To bore a hole into any vessel or fruit containing a fluid. പാ ല്ക്കുഴ മെല്ലവേ തോക്കും, പാക്കുഴ തോത്തതു, തോ ക്കുകൊണ്ടണ്ണാര്‍ന്നു വായും പിളര്‍ന്നു CG.
