toṭṭū T. M. (C. Tu. തൊട്ടു, prob. fr. തൊല്‍). 1. The pedicle of a leaf, a bunch of flowers പൂന്തൊത്തു. 2. a nipple കുളുര്‍മുലത്തൊ ത്തു പുല്കി Bhr., തൊത്തായകൊങ്ക CG.— Similar prominent appendages, as the rings that hold the ramrod, that join coins to a necklace (തൊ ത്തു വെച്ച് വില്ലിട്ട പൊന്‍, പൊന്മണിത്തൊത്തു TR.), that hold ഞാലി or പാററ. tēmānam M. C. Tu. (T. തേയ്മ —, fr. തേയുക) Waste from rubbing; loss in assaying metals ഗുളികത്തേമാനം TR. (of coiners); waste of goldsmith = രായിട്ടു പോകുന്നതു; wear & tear. — തേമാനപ്പെടുക to wear out by long use f. i. മോതിരം = തഴയുക; തേ'ട്ട മാര്‍ഗ്ഗം a dying-out-religion.

taḍam S. 1. Declivity, shore (fr. തട 2). 2. dependent parts of the body, as കടിതടം, സ്തനതടം. 3. M. T. (തടവു) what is broad, wide, as garden-bed (ത. കെട്ടിക്ക Arb.), a basin round a tree to hold water (തടം ഇടുക; കൈ പ്പത്തടത്തില്‍, അവരത്തടത്തില്‍ തവള നില്ക്ക ട്ടേ prov.); the lair of wild animals പന്നി തട ത്തുനിന്നിളകി TP. — hence കവിള്‍ത്തടം cheek, കണ്ണിന്‍റെ ത. eye-socket (ക. തടവും വളരെ വീങ്ങി MR.), നെററിത്തടം, തേര്‍ത്തടം = തട്ടു etc. 4. size, circumference കഴുത്തു, കൈ, ൪ വിര ല്ക്കു ത. ചുരുക്കി TP. — തടം പിടിക്ക to measure. Hence: തടങ്കണ്‍ a large eye കരുന്ത., നളിന ത. മന്നന്‍, ത. ഇടപ്പെടത്തുറന്നു നോക്കി RC. stared with wide open eye. തടങ്കൈ RC. a large hand. തടങ്കൊങ്ക full breast, മല്ലത്ത. tirakkuγa (T. തിരങ്ങുക to be crumpled) 1. v. a. To press the enemy V1. ഇതിഹാ സങ്ങള്‍കൊണ്ടു തിരക്കിത്തുടങ്ങിനാര്‍ Bhr 3. plied with stories, allusions, questions. തിര ക്കും വടി of weavers. വേഗേന അടെക്കണം എന്നു തിരക്കീട്ടു TR. urged to pay. ഉരുട്ടിത്തി. to agglomerate. തിരക്കി നോക്കി looked close at one. 2. v. n. = തിക്കുക q. v. often തിക്കി ത്തിരിക്കി thronged. 3. So. = തിരയുക 2. to seek MC. തിരക്കം So. ardour, നല്ല തി'മുള്ളവരായി Trav. തിരക്കു 1. thronging, pressing പണിത്തി. press of business, (so കല്യാണത്തി. prov.), ഉള് ത്തി. rancour. 2. precipitation, confusion ബുദ്ധി തി. madness. 3. tumult, noise. CV. തിരക്കിക്ക to press, treat harshly and haughtily, പുല്ക്കൊടി പോലേ നിന്നെത്തി'ച്ചു Nal.

toṇḍụ 1. T. So. A log of wood = തട്ട. 2. the fibrous husk of a cocoanut, the rind of a pomegranate, ചുരങ്ങത്തൊണ്ടു etc.; an empty cocoanut കഴന്പെടുത്താല്‍ തൊ.; തൊണ്ടും പേടും (തേങ്ങത്തൊണ്ടു). പോയെങ്കില്‍ ൧ഠഠഠ തൊണ്ടു prov. (So. തൊണ്ണന്‍) — a cup made of a cocoanut-shell. 3. So. a passage between two mud-walls. (=തോടു). തൊണ്ടെകല്പു N. pr. The northern boundary of Tuḷu, തൊ. പിടിച്ചു തോവാളക്കട്ടിളയോ ളം പരശുരാമന്‍റെ നാടു, തൊണ്ടെകല്പു പി ടിച്ചു കാഞ്ഞിരോട്ടു കടവോളം തുളുനാടു KU.
